Shouldn't matter, but Lee Carter is just... unappealing to look at in a way that could hurt him in a high profile race.

wdym he has #populist Purple heart teeth

Carter has little chance of winning the primary, and I wish he had just stayed put in the House of Delegates where he has pushed for great things (capping insulin prices, pushing for RTW repeal, etc.).
Afaik he’s still running for re-election.

Isn't the whole premise here that Carter has no reason not to because he can run for reelection to his State House seat and run for Governor at the same time, so why not do both?

Obviously he's not gonna win the latter, but I was under the impression he's just going to file for both races simultaneously and that that's allowed.

Yeah, which is why I suspect this move is done because he wants a bigger megaphone, not because he actually thinks he can defeat TMac/JCF - that's just a huge bonus if it actually happens.
Yeah, it's a decent political move to try and increase his name rec for a potential run for House or Senate in the future.

In other fall from grace news, we have Lee Carter.

After spending his political capital backing the biggest meme candidate of 2020, he's apparently burning his bridges with the local DSA (including his campaign manager from 2017). Apparently he got pissy over what he thought wasn't enough work for his priorities, and people criticizing his wife's DSA clone group/grift for doing nothing.

Now he's trying the Kennedy strat on them. He's spent the last few hours being terminally Online and  whining about DSA/Foy Bros or something like that. Really deranged stuff.
it really sucks because I used to like Lee, and he has spearheaded some really good stuff like the insulin cap.

Welp.

Lee Sharter has gone down. Let's hope that this is a sign of what's to come for Nina Turner in August, as well as for John Fetterman and The Squad in their primaries next year.

None of the people you are talking about are running a pointless vanity campaign for a higher office at the same time, and don't spend most of their free time engaging in silly Trump-esque feuds with blue checkmarked journalists as well as people who aren't notable for any reason aside from being extremely online on Twitter.
Yeah, this isn’t a failure of “the left”, it’s a failure of Lee Carter. I liked the guy back in 2017-18 but he quickly became insufferable. At least he did some good with insulin but otherwise the guy’s been a douche and I’m glad he’s not going to sully the progressive and DSA name anymore, or at least not as much since he isn’t as important.

Hillariously enough, the reason why the Byrd statue was removed is because some doofus GOP rep was like "how would you like it if we tried to cancel a Democrat" and the Democratic caucus was like yeah, okay, let's get rid of this racist's statue.
That is because they were put on the spot and as a result had to do damage control.
No, it’s because they’re consistent. Party ID doesn’t matter, actions do.

I was told at my polling station I couldn’t vote without pants. Knowing what nudists think about pants, isn’t this just an illegal barrier to voting? But I can count on one thing our judges will do nothing.

TMac +6 in Loudoun, DDHQ says its 90% in. Is it having a Miami-Dade moment or is this incorrect?
I believe this is all election day vote, not early vote, but I'm not quite sure there

as it turns out running a campaign that's completely uninspired and letting your opponent control the narrative ISN'T a good way to do things!

Very disappointed that there aren’t a dozen posts here speculating on the effect that Northern Virginia’s weather will have on the election.

It’s perfect Global Warming weather today.

it will lull voters in NOVA into false security so they don't vote. GOP sweep incoming
