Won't happen, but Ro Khanna would be my pick.

Jerry Brown Jerry Brown Jerry Brown Jerry Brown

Lol Jerry Brown is old school, they want someone much younger, D's don't want another Market, purposely misspelled. The D party is based on Y2K not old school like Rs, that's why Ds are in the majority, due to Y2K generation not Boomers

Joe Kennedy was winning until AOC made the unfortunate endorsement to Market, I am glad her political aspirations are gone up in smoke

Why are you so obsessed with Ed Markey? That race has nothing to do with Cali.

Alex Padilla is the frontrunner apparently. I have a problem with Governor's not appointing caretakers, but I understand completely why Newsom would elevate an ally. But even still, Newsom could throw a bone to Willie Brown who was a mentor to him and got Gavins career started. Let him stand in for two years and then have the voters *actually* pick who represents them for the next few decades. But probably he picks some young/ish democrat who will stay in the seat for 30 years.

Willie Brown or Jerry Brown to serve as a caretaker and leave an open primary in 2022 would be the most responsible choice, but I don't think Newsom will do it, so I'm hoping for Karen Bass.

I hope it's someone Hispanic/Latino.

It won't happen, but Lorena Gonzalez would be my dream pick.

If it's not Ted Lieu or a Latino/Latina, we riot.

Newsom should appoint a caretaker like Jerry Brown or even Boxer and leave it as an open field in 2022.
