which is streaming live footage from Seattle of Bill Gates stating that he will "transition" from the CEO of Microsoft to the CEO of his charity. Does anyone think he's aiming for US president 2012?

I doubt it, now if he was booting up a PAC or something than maybe. It just seems like he is tired of the workload that came with Microsoft.

I would hate to see the economy function the way windows does (i.e. crash daily).

No, he will be too happy being a private citizen to run for any political office.

Warren Buffet donated billions to the Gates charity.

2008:

Clinton/Fiengold   vs      Gates/Buffet     vs  Romney/Allen
        39%                             19%                                41%

A Presidential run by Bill Gates?  No.

He has the money to run, but not the personality or the political toughness that would be required.
