RIP Minnesota Green Party

Parties must receive at least 5% in a statewide election the last four years to obtain major party status and at least 1% in that time frame for minor party status. The Green Party obtained major party status in 2000 but lost it in 2004 and was regulated to minor party status and narrowly kept it with Jill Stein barely breaking 1% in 2016.

In 2018 they ran no candidates for statewide office and in 2020 only the Presidential ticket was ran....which received 0.31%.

Following certification the Green Party will no longer be a legally recognized party in Minnesota.
