Toss-up. Thankfully though, Republicans don't have a bench here

Amodei, Cegavske, Laxalt, Sandoval just to name a few

Anyway, pure tossup for now.

Laxalt would be an incredible gift to Masto.

Compared to some of the meme-tier candidates the NVGOP is running now (Dan Rodimer), that isn't true. He seems like one of the more formidable candidates still around - what makes him any worse than generic/Trump-tilting R?

Now that Rick Scott has been elected as the NRSC chair for this cycle, I think this is Lean R.

He's a conspiratorial nut, though I guess that does pretty much make him a generic R these days.

What do you think about former Nevada Lt. Governor Mark Hutchison? What is he doing anyways?

Amodei is not giving up his house seat most likely. Not sure he'd be great

Laxalt is a terrible candidate

Sandoval is most likely done

Cegavske is the most likely option and probably the best but even then not great

I’d rate it a Tossup for now but it could move to Lean D pretty quickly if Republican recruitment is a failure. Democrats do have obvious advantages in this state but they’re by no means insurmountable for the GOP, especially in a good year. Also, I agree with this:

I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP challenger comes out of the private sector. The NVGOP bench is really weak and Vegas probably has some millionaire wanting the job.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of Rick Scott's buddies, lol.

Of the Dems three vulnerable seats (NH, NV, and AZ), I would say this is the one with the best chance to stay D.  The Reid machine will be in full force trying to re-elect CCM and Sisolak and I actually think that Nevada may actually now be the mirror image of Florida.  A very inelastic state where Republicans can get very close statewide, but have a very hard time actually winning.

I want him to run, but I don’t think he will since he already lost to CCM. Also, him having been a pretty outspoken never trumper would hurt him in the gop primary.

The NV GOP needs to get another party chair who doesnt look like a dognapper from a low budget 1990s airbud movie

Just making it clear that it's very unlikely Sandoval runs. He's just taken up a University Presidency and appears entirely disinterested in the modern GOP.

Rs are really dependent on Ducey, Sununu and Sandoval to run and 2/3 declined to run.

That leaves GA as the most vulnerable seat for D's and the must defend Ron Johnson and Toomey's seat that gives us a 51/49 Majority

Plus 2nd tier battlegrounds in OH and NC

Lt Gov Mandela is looking to run for Johnson seat, Johnson needs to retire, but the Rs want him to stay on to help defeat Evers and Evers will win too

What about Danny Tarkanian and Dan Rodimer?

They have been trying to get elected for awhile now.

It seems that the GOP is uniting around Laxalt :

'' In Nevada, differing GOP factions appear to be rallying around former Attorney General Adam Laxalt to challenge Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto. Laxalt, a prolific fundraiser, is close with many in Trump’s inner circle and recently met with Sens. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Mike Lee and Rick Scott at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where he received encouragement to run. McConnell is also said to favor Laxalt’s candidacy, according to a GOP aide.

The Club for Growth provided a poll to McClatchy showing Laxalt with a 19-point lead in a hypothetical primary match-up against Dean Heller, the former senator who clashed with Trump. ''

How did Dean Heller clash with Trump? He was an enabler, even after going down in 2018. Republicans seem to have a thin bench in Nevada which is why they get behind Laxalt. Anyway, CCM should be favored.

Laxalt doesn't seem like a very strong candidate. That said, this race is a tossup.
