Democrats will lose, and it will be a blowout. Strongest showing for a Republican in both the NPV and the EC since 1988, Rs will take the Senate with at least 60 seats, and Rs will have a similarly strong showing in the House.

I do think Harris probably loses an open seat race in 2024.  Maybe not a blowout, but likely a loss.  She won’t get the never Trump Republicans that put Biden over the edge in PA, WI, and MI, and we could well be at the point where she loses some other states Biden won (AZ, MN, and GA).

Making such predictions this early is always a smart thing to do.

Probably a similar map to 2016.

Democrats need to run a Blagojevich 2002 type populist who can appeal to downstate Illinois (Middle America) without his baggage and corruption

Someone who can win like that while holding the wings together

Southern Illinois is funny place. We hate whoever the incumbent governor as a matter of course regardless of party affiliation. It’s almost a cultural thing, Ryan, Blago, Quinn, Rauner, Pritzker, doesn’t matter, as soon as they are in office they are Chicago’s puppet and we hate them. This is especially true when you get down to Egypt.

That said, Blago’s first run was the last time I remember any candidate getting real momentum out here.

It's sad. Downstate Illinois wants to secede from Chicago, because they don't like Chicago's cultural politics.

It's like the rest of America.

Secession and separation is coming soon----it's a 50-50 Illinois and a 50-50 America.

I don't know if Kamala Harris can deal with that.

1884, 1888, 1892, 1896 (four times). Guess who was elected in 1884 and 1892?

I think Harris might actually be a better GE candidate than people give her credit for, but I could be dead wrong about that.

The one other time was 1840, 1844, 1848, 1852. No streak of exactly 3.

So people need to seek help for their Doom addiction

By establishing clean Doom injection facilities, we can reduce the rate of bloodborne Doomseases and reduce fatalities from Doom use.

Harris is a horrible candidate.  I really hope she is at the top of the Dem ticket.

When did Solid become a doomer? They had some of the most hackishly pro-Democrat predictions on the forum in 2018.
