I'd say so, because Ted Stevens of Alaska is the only one of these defeated Republican Senators who is dead.

How long has it been since there was a clergyman in the Senate? I know there are some in the House, but for the Senate do you have to go back to John Danforth?

So there are probably like 200,000 votes left in DeKalb to be counted?

Yep

You have to admit that Mark Kirk was a good guy. Easily the most liberal Republican Senator this decade.
This isn't relevant to the thread but Mark Kirk ran a racist campaign against Tammy Duckworth in the closing weeks. Not a "good guy" by any means even if he is better than most if not all of his Republican colleagues.

Loeffler has to be the weakest candidate run in a competitive state in a long ass time.

Karen Handel is pretty good competition for weakest candidate.

At least Karen Handel won some races before failing.

GEOFFREY SKELLEY
JAN. 5, 10:00 PM
And while incumbency isn’t necessarily worth as much as it once was, Perdue won in 2014, so he’s been elected in his own right. Loeffler is an appointed incumbent, which, practically speaking, means the race is functioning as an open seat.

Another point against the "Loeffler is uniquely weak" argument.

McConnell in particular 100% deserved losing his Senate majority after blocking the 2k checks. F*** him..

He had a stroke that completely messed up his brain. Mark was extremely sharp before that, winning reelection to his House seat by 6 points in the middle of a massive Democratic wave year as Obama carried it with 61%. That speaks volumes about how strong he was.

In the core Democratic counties, if raw turnout is at 100% of November's total*, here's what is left:

Code:
Dekalb 247,000
Cobb 224,000
Gwinnett        103,000
Fulton 92,000
Chatham 59,000
Muscogee     27,000
Richmond        13,000
Bibb        9,000
Dougherty   8,000
Clarke 6,000

Total                 788,000

Likely 500k votes or more remaining in these counties - none of which were less than 56% D in November (overall, the average is somewhere 65-70% D).

Easily two-thirds or more of the outstanding vote is in these counties.

I think James Lankford from OK is an evangelical minister IIRC
