PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE PAT LEAHY
SENATE BUDGET CHAIRMAN BERNIE SANDERS
VERMONT POWAAAAAA

Everyone's talking about AZ and GA delegations, but Vermont's is pretty good too.

Thought about it but my logic was: Bernie > Warren > Markey > Leahy (not that I dislike him but really prefer the other 3 a lot more).

Oh, and Biden will have an easier time getting his cabinet through. Thats nice.

Neera Tanden may actually get confirmed.
And there was much rejoicing *unenthusiastic cheers*

Ossoff is now at 74% chance of winning it ... and it continues to climb.
Here is the NYT "The Needle" page ... https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/05/us/elections/forecast-georgia-senate-runoff.html

Ossoff at 3 to 1 odds. Warnock at 8 to 1 odds.

A Dem sweep would likely mean Garland will be the Attorney General

If after all that it's Garland and not Yates (another Georgian) that'll be disappointing.

Biden has waited because Garland is his first choice but the DC circuit court is the next most power court in the country after SCOTUS and Mitch would never ever let Biden nominate someone of quality there. So Jones is the backup if Dems lose both tonight

Ugh I really need to go to bed.

But I was here when GA flipped to Biden at the crack of dawn and I'm gonna be here when an official call is made, dammit!

Wasn't that 2-3 days later?

Before January 20th?

Um, he won't be in a position to formally nominate anyone until after Jan. 20...

Loeffler has to be the weakest candidate run in a competitive state in a long ass time.
Since the days of McSally 2020...or McSally 2018.

Tbh, I disagree. If Purdue couldn't win, then her loss isn't a Loeffler problem, it's a Georgia problem.

You have to admit that Mark Kirk was a good guy. Easily the most liberal Republican Senator this decade.

Gordon Smith as well.

Don't Cabinet nominees start to be voted on before the 20th? Or am I wrong?

So there are probably like 200,000 votes left in DeKalb to be counted?
