How come every single really postive bit of news feels like sniffing pain killers off of a super models ass and every bit of negative news feels like I just watched my childhood dog get hit by a bus

Because you're not a particularly well-adjusted person. Go do something else.

I don't remember how fast Georgia reported on election night, but I've got to give them some credit that we're actually getting some real results in this early and they didn't just do a mail-in or election day ballot dump to make it look like they're counting fast and then leave us hanging.

The question remains: Are dems doing better in VBM because they canibalized their voter base for early voting or because they're was an actual swing.

Basically all of Gwinnett's mail vote is in. It was 11 PM in November before we got the first batch of mail votes from Gwinnett (and that was roughly 50% of the total). The other 50% took a lot longer to sort through.

We still don't know. According to CNN a few moments ago, 93% of all vote currently in is early vote.

If CNN predicts EV will make up 72% of the vote...

...then they are estimating over 1.1Million Election Day voters (I think)

There weren't many ED voters(November) who voted early this time around

Maybe CNN's totals are out of sync but Warnock is running 1% ahead of Ossoff. Warnock/Perdue is a possibility with that kind of gap.

Very few e-day voters actually voted early according to stats, so they didn't cannabalize their own vote, though there were more Rs left to vote on e-day

They’re probably out of sync — NYT has a much smaller .2% gap.

Yeah, I think there was only like ~100K or something that voted early this time around instead of election day in Nov

Based on the results we've seen thus far, the Ds seem to have won the EV by about 300k or more, and if votes broke as they did in the GE, Rs would need just slightly more than 1.3 million votes, I suspect they did slightly better in the GE vote margin though than in Nov but that's speculation on my part and the evidence isn't yet there to say with any confidence.
