My question is admittedly half joking, but I am wondering if Trump will be viewed more favorably now that he's lost, as many presidents are as they leave office.

I don't think so. His whole schtick is winning, winning, winning. It's hard to keep that up when you lose. Of course, that doesn't mean he can't make a comeback but I don't think his helps his image.

I also think his approval rating will drop now that he's been fired, as his personal approval rating has always been lower than his job approval rating.

No. He's damaged himself enough where he can't even revive The Apprentice anymore. He's always been unlikable as a person but now he is even more so.

No, but losing narrowly and holding all of those state legislatures and probably the senate pending Georgia on January 5th probably is the best thing for Republicans in the long run.

No.  He's an absolutely terrible human being, rotten to the core.  Democrats have no sympathy for him and no interest in being part of any image rehabilitation or contrarian "actually Trump wasn't so bad" takes.

W has experienced a bit of an undeserved revitalization because he's a likable guy, he's been nothing but decent since he left office, and he ended his presidency having to work with Democrats to fix the financial crisis so he had a bit of sympathy.  That's let some younger Democrats buy into some takes like "Bush was a decent guy who made some mistakes" or "Bush was ok, but he surrounded himself with bad people."

Nobody's going to make that mistake with Trump.  It's overwhelmingly obvious that his administration was a failure, and that he himself was absolutely rotten to the core.  And I expect him to continue being a sh-tbag after he leaves office.

The whole counting process has been good for his ego. Makes it easier for him to pretend that he didn't lose at all.

He is now at legal risk from federal and state prosecutors once he is no longer President.

Honestly see the next few months hurting him significantly, his approval might hit its all time low. If he doesn't back down with this not accepting the election crap its just going to embarrass him and turn off some of his more reasonable supporters.

He'll keep a pretty dedicated base of core supporters, but it looks like the rank-and-file  Republicans are ready to move-on without him (thankfully).

Kamala vs Trump

We voted him out, what makes anyone think we will ever want him back?

Do you think that having lost this time will be good or bad for that campaign?

The chances of that happening are somewhat reduced by Donald Trump continuing to be a butthurt sore loser.

It could have been if he didn't act like such a whiner when he wasn't a winner.

For him? Since he's bankrupt he would enjoy it if he continues to receive free room and board from the taxpayers.  Only instead of being in the White House, he'll be in the Big House.

No, he will never be looked on kindly by 55% of the country.  He's also facing a world of hurt in the courts once he leaves office.  He's probably freaking out right now.
