As we all know, the 1936 Election was a major victory for the New Deal and Franklin Roosevelt. Landon won only Maine and Vermont. On the day after the election, Roosevelt joked that he should of spent more time campaiging in Maine and Vermont.

I vote for Governor Landon

FDR, although I wish there was a Progressive candidate. I'm not sure who I would have voted for had I been 21 in 1936.

The Prohibition Candidate. I wanted to put him down, but he came in 6th place. I only put down the top 5.

The poll numbers are pretty close to the numbers in the actual election. Nobody would've beaten FDR in 1936, but Landon was a pretty poor candidate.

In 1936 Gallup took the first phone surveys. Only the wealthy owned phones in mass numbers in 1936. The wealthy were strongly anti-New Deal and anti-FDR, so Gallup saw Landon getting 70%-80% of the Vote on Election Day.

AS we know, they were quite wrong.
