Just woke up. Why aren’t the networks calling it yet?

Good question, especially since I'm watching CNN talk about how impossible it's going to be for Trump to regain a lead in PA.

My suspicion is that they want to wait for the lead to expand in order to make it look less biased.

Call will probably come after the next (last?) Philly dump.

Yeah, the writing was on the wall in WI and MI at least an hour or two before those states were called. They're probably waiting for the lead to expand to a couple tens of thousands of votes.

I have to imagine they're just waiting for the margin to widen to more than just a few thousand in PA before calling it.

Any idea when that might be?

I’m about to work my a** off to ensure these Senate seats stay red in GA.  The fate of the country depends on it.

You mean to make sure people don’t get health care, a fair wage, working infrastructure, an adequate stimulous .... representation for American citizens in PR? With Manchin and Sinema and Tester - the Dem legislation will be moderate even if they did get the Senate but you literally have zero to worry about.

Nevada will post another update at noon, probably finish off Trump for good there. Maybe they are waiting to call those states together.

What a lovely development to wake up to. I just finished texting TCG to congratulate him on his historic state flipping vote!

Could someone check on MillennialModerate's pulse, PQG?

Ohhh you leave MM alone, Arch.

(But yes, yes I will.  Full cardio physical, actually *pulls out stethoscope and blood-pressure cuff*)

Georgia could very easily flip back.

I’m close to admitting my ignorance however and conceding a 1-2 record in “lock” predictions

I'm glad that the election has been finally projected after nearly four days, but it was still far too close to comfort, and much closer then I had anticipated it being. And I am not looking forward to the next four years, from the vantage point of what we'll see with partisan gridlock. Moreover, I fear that the Democratic Party may come to regret winning this election down the road. Yes, it was important to get Trump out, but there will be consequences that will extend into the decade.

How so?

We need an organization focused on moving Dems out of California and other Safe D states into swing states. Keep the Blue Wall blue, demographic-shift Georgia, North Carolina, Texas to the left. With the right strategy, I think we can keep the R EC advantage down. Maybe try to overwhelm Wyoming with sheer numbers, Vermont-in-the-80s style?

It's done.  Georgia isn't flipping back.

I know it's close, and hey, I'm a doomer too.  But it's done.

Likelihood of a brief Pence presidency with the aim of getting a pardon?

Wouldn't Trump need to get convicted of things to get a pardon?

No, and a pardon would not affect any of his state level allegations (sexual assaults, etc). Only those arising under federal law.

That's a common myth about Vermont, but it's just that, a myth. What actually happened is that New York and Boston transplants like Bernie Sanders changed the culture in the state so that even the old-school Yankees, who were and are still the majority of Vermonters, started voting D like crazy.
