Al Gross declaring victory is clearly the most insane thing said today.

I take it you didn't watch Trump's press conference.

There's probably going to be a recount in Georgia so I doubt it'll be really called.

Is there any rhyme or reason to this? Is he just being optimistic or annoying?

There's going to be a recount in Wisconsin and it was called. They will just call Biden the apparent winner vs the projected winner.

Unless Biden's win is under 500 votes, the Georgia results are not going to change.

Between the recount and two runoffs, GA will be the center of the political world for the next few months.

He was asked why he hadn't conceded with only about half counted and basically said "because I can still win"

Yeah, GA will probably end up Biden by 3k. Networks won't call until after a recount, but it's also pretty far above the level that I think could reasonably be reversed.

I think, in theory, if the remaining mail-ins and early votes end up overwhelming Democratic, there could be a path (?).

He's probably just being optimistic. Though, he didn't declare victory, he just said "We believe we will win" like Biden

Wtf, that is the most bizarre one I've heard.

Edit - to anyone reading this later, this was false, it was just "we think we'll win when the votes are counted".

Are the military ballots likely to be upwards of 60% Dem?
No, military ballots skew R. They're basically all that's keeping Trump alive in GA once Clayton drops the rest of its' vote.

It's military and expats, though.

Biden won Virginia Beach so I would not take it for granted that military vote will be heavy republican.

The CNN Exit Poll has them 52-45 for Trump, but I don't know if overseas military would be different and there are likely differences depending on the state.

Of course, those are for all veterans, not just those in the active service.

I would imagine active service members are more D than vets. Active Service members are less whiter and less male than older vets(43%+ of current service members are non-white),

Will Trump bother to pay for a recount in GA after he loses anyway with PA?

I mean Obama could have triggered a recount in MO in 2008, didn’t bother because he won anyway. I can see Trump doing it just to be a sore loser, but I can also see him just calling it “rigged anyway” and not bothering.

Biden might pull into the lead for GA tonight. It's not enough for a call, though.
