One perpetrator is probably dead, one or more on the run and chased by police.

The attackers were armed with AK-47s, so this was something more professional ...

The synagogue was luckily empty at 8pm and guarded by at least 1 policeman.

All Austrian synagogues are protected of some sort.

Thank God it was empty and he didn't go for a bar.

Currently sitting in one and it's packed like never before since corona began, since lockdown begins at 00:00.

Incredibly sad to see yet another brave man and innocent bystanders sacrificed at the alter of illogical politics.

Also injuries at McDonalds and other restaurants.

Background:

Tonight is the last day that restaurants have open.

In 2.5 hours, there would be a new lockdown here in Austria and restaurants would be closed for all of November.

There were still people there enjoying a last day out at the restaurants with friends.

Well, it was just a matter of time until something like this happened here ...

There were also some disturbing acts in the past few days in Vienna as well.

Following the Mohammed cartoon story in France, about 50 Turkish youngsters went into a church in Vienna and destroyed parts of the interior.

In another incident, an Afghan asylum seeker yelled "Allah is great." in the St. Stephens Cathedral recently and harrassed a few people in there.

As far as I can tell the one armed with the AK is still running and shooting. I found videos from people in apartments of him shooting at 2 officers who are chasing him.

Don't get me wrong. I definitely worry about "my people".

But I also think this could have big influence if Trump tweets all day long about it tomorrow.
