My parents will be vacationing in the north coast of CA, and are leaving me at home with my annoying sister. So I will be posting here for longer than usual into the night.

Finally got my BioNtech/Pfitzer vaccine shot today. As I was tested positive six months ago, there's just one shot recommended by the RKI (German CDC) after half a year has passed. It was absolutely painless and quickly done at a vaccination center. Two weeks from now, I'm considered "fully vaccinated".

Don't feel any side effects so far, though that may change tomorrow. My dad, who got his shot last week, only had moderate pain in his arm while my stepmom felt sick for two days. Let's see what happens, I'm just glad it finally happened.

Yeah, the side effects are different for everyone. I didn't have any (well I said I did to miss school), but some in my family did.

Then also found that (conveniently) that my mom had 'got this excellent deal' from a friend on a rental in Hawaii that was such a good deal because it was the most expensive time of the year and American is charging legit 150k miles for a standard SFO-LAX-OGG routing.

Flying back to NY right now, and the food in JetBlue Mint is amazing. Possibly the best business class meal I've ever had. No champagne, and wines are pretty bad, but the food itself is great and they have espresso so not too much to complain about. Free gate-to-gate wifi too.

I've heard the LHR-JFK product is nice. Never liked JetBlue food though (3/5 is always like four salads and pork). But maybe the transatlantic is better.

Gave a presentation for both my science and english finals. I have a zero-proof science grade (since finals only count for 10% in that class I could get zero and be at 90%) but English went better than expected.

I had to do one on 'an issue that needs to be talked about more' and I ended up with a 20-slide rant about the Koch Brothers. Cut it down to 5 and did fine.

Ah. When does summer vacation start for you? Down here, for public schools at least, it’s either late May or early June (this year it was the first Friday/Saturday in June; it’s presumably always that or the last Friday/Saturday in May).

I think the academic year ended on like May 31, but the week up to that Friday was finals and stuff so about June 3.

My dad got laid off today after nearly two decades. 10 months pay and severance + healthcare initial corporate offer. My mom is a lawyer and is talking with her employment lawyer friend, still very sad though.

Which mountain(s)? I have trips booked to Whistler and Park City but I'm trying to fill out my calendar. It's very difficult for me to justify a trip to California when Utah is both so good and convenient.

I was at Heavenly but Park City is certainly a better deal, cost wise.

No. Depart SFO then JFK, Charlotte, and then Munich. Least expensive from a mileage standpoint.
