I may or may not have gotten the job for hypothetical clubbing money, but I at least got the energy to continue on looking.

Small steps, small steps that you can do that isn’t too late no matter how long you get to restart them.

Today marks two years since my grandmother's passing, and I am still as much in grief today as I was then. But things in life are picking up overall.

I was still on hiatus from the forum at that point, so I'll extend my belated condolences now.

I scored in the 96th percentile on the LSAT. Sounds pretty good until you realize I was consistently scoring in the 99th on my preptests. It was an easy test; I just panicked and couldn't focus on some of the questions. Really frustrating knowing how much better I could have done.

Between pain from IBS and headaches and sneezing from non-stop allergies I've been not sleeping great, causing more pain from bad sleep posture, making things miserable in general

I just ordered a Swiss military surplus wool jacket. Who knows when it will come but I'm hoping it will make this winter LIT.

So basically I can now add "going to the early Sunday Mass straight after a voluntarily sleepless night" to the list of stupid sh**t I have done in my life. Enjoy!

A person I sat near in church today was told a couple hours later that he tested positive for covid.  I'm trying to be rational in my mind, but I'm pretty annoyed because the one thing that has worried me about this is a fear of being alone and having to quarantine.  To make things worse, I always assumed that I wouldn't know until several days after contact, lessening the amount of time left on my quarantine, but finding out the same day means I have two full weeks alone.

I will get tested later in the week, allowing for a few days for any potential virus to develop before I get tested.  Honestly, I hope it's positive because that would mean that I wouldn't have to do this again if I later got it or was exposed again.

ETA: I still disagree with how we treat covid and maintain that society should be treating it no different than other illnesses, where you live your life if you feel at all up to it, but that's not the route we've taken, and I have to respect that because I don't want to make others have to quarantine too.

Word from the wise: If you live in a red state, don't tell anyone you voted for Biden. Not even if they're family. Not even if you think they're sympathetic. Not even once.

You can literally see in their eyes them adding your name to their little mental list of people to rat on when the roundups start.
Calm down.

Today marks our first 'engagement' anniversary Purple heart

It's never clear to either one exactly how seriously that promise and our rings must be taken, that's why the scary quotes. The (much longer) count since we are a couple is more important.

AHHHH I TOOK A PPP POLL

(but it's for North Carolina and I can't vote this year, so take .01% away from Cunningham when the poll comes out)

I too was surprised how rabidly anti-Biden my home county is. I thought Biden was the most milquetoast and inoffensive nominee who ever existed, but the sound of his name made people see red. Rivals the anger I've seen towards Trump on the Internet.

Kind of a morbid coincidence, but I frequently check the Wikipedia recent deaths page. Under October 23, there was a listing for David Barnes, who at first I thought was the appointed Nebraska US Senator from the late 80s. Then reading on, that guy was listed as a New Zealander sailor. Now a few days later, the page lists David Karnes, who was that Senator, as dying of cancer on October 25.

The shape of Peru is just so cool. It suggests youthfulness and joviality.

It's much better than the shape of Italy. This is not a permanent avatar though.

I feel fine otherwise so probably not. Just worried about why it seems like my body is forgetting to breathe when I’m asleep.

Could be sleep apnea. You may want to talk to a doctor about that, can be serious.

Today I finally received my pay as a poll worker for the September elections, which was 145€. Pretty dunk.
