Just got back from Tahoe. Skied a double black diamond for the first time.
Which mountain(s)? I have trips booked to Whistler and Park City but I'm trying to fill out my calendar. It's very difficult for me to justify a trip to California when Utah is both so good and convenient.

I was at Heavenly but Park City is certainly a better deal, cost wise.

Venice is beautiful but I have no reason to ever come back here.

Sad! What happened?

Tourist trap with no trace of organic human life and fast food restaurants that demand way too many logins to gain wi-fi access. I also insisted on walking from the mainland to the island (my fault), which had me in a foul mood. Also sooo many effing pigeons.

This is fair but you lose all of your complaint points for going to a fast food restaurant, smh. It is said that the best time to see Venice is at night or dawn (and then go into hiding when it becomes crammed I guess).

For whatever reason my phone data was garbage so I did as any American would and sought out the nearest embassy (McDonald's/KFC). Also the fact that in Europe it seems bathroom require paid access, and that I was not cash heavy at the time, had me tend towards familiar territory with (presumed) known rules. I eventually found my footing, however. I was also on day 10 of this trip and had little sleep, so was feeling a bit stretched. Tongue

And it was quite beautiful at night.

Last time I was in Venice was early '94 and travelling with a "Gal Friend" and not a "Girl Friend", after we had spent time on a multiple month European College tour.

Twas in December of '93 when our trained rolled into Venice.

Tons of greeters at the railroad station offering discount hotel rents, and we ended up getting promised a sweet suite for so much cheaper than a youth hostel.

Fine we take the bite and go to the hotel on the main island, within very close walking to pretty much everything.

Took us three times to go back downstairs to speak to the hotel MGMT staff and once again explain that we are not a couple and separate beds is the minimum requirement.

Still, sometimes best to go to Venice, or other places along the Adriatic in the Winter vs the Summer to get the cheapest lodgings for those travelling on a budget.

Very trippy wandering through the streets of Venice outside of the posh and tourist zone back then, and seeing hammer and sickles spray paint graffiti, not to mention posters supporting the local Italian Communist Party candidates in one of the most working-class neighborhoods of Venice.

Venice is all right, just best to stay away from the obvious tourist traps, spend time in neighborhoods where the workers actually live, and not get caught up in all the hype. Wink

I have no remaining living grandparents. My grandmother on my dad's side passed quietly and peacefully this morning. Her mental state had been deteriorating for a while, we're pretty sure she had a stroke a few weeks/months ago and she'd been having memory issues. I last saw her a couple years ago and my last memory with her was in her apartment having some great local pizza, laughs all around.

I'll miss her, even if I didn't see her much. She passed the most peacefully of all my grandparents. All others died of cancer or complications from it in the case of my grandfather on my mom's side (quite a resilient guy, he was, considering they gave him months to live in the 80s and he made it to 2020)

Death anxiety hitting hard again.

the devil was holding fast my eyelids last night, i slept for 11 hours, that is the longest i can recall sleeping in idk how long.

i am ashamed, i exhibited such sloth and also left my home vulnerable to those from beyond with ten thousand eyes for such a long time, it is a miracle that i woke up at all this morning.

Pulled off a conversation with a Swiss Family in non-English. Amazing how different it is from Standard.

Castillian and Mexican are closer, American and English are closer, I'm pretty sure even Florentine and Sardinian are closer.

Stephanie Rule said that people post on these sites and talk about an inevitable DeSantis Prez which isn't gonna happen just because he is popular which he isn't that popular he is down 8 pts in Echelon Polls and users act like he is up 8 pts, I knew that this was gonna happen once he got reelection that's why I did all I could to stop it but an act of God IAN saved him

What has he done for Poor people outside of Disaster, Bush W had 60 approvals after 911 but he lost the public with Katrina

Tax cuts isn't helping people because Corporate taxes pays for our SSA our little money that we put in don't take care of us by 2045 it won't be 20 it's gonna be 50, it's gonna be raised anyways we are living longer

When you work a 30K 15.00 an HR 40 hr job your taxes are 15 and the rest is Health care insurance thats taken out of your check the RS lie when they give rich people tax cuts because it's called property tax Pritzker pays 290 K in property taxes instead of Fed taxes it's transfer intent to properly taxes do you know in CA, FL and HI that property taxes are high, during pandemic they in CA were paying of mortgages they stopped just like Rental assistant

So RS say we can't afford Reparations CA is giving out reparations and Welfare based on High Property taxes and other states can do the same where is all the lottery money going, that you never win

Blk athletes are D and White athletes are R except if you are Eminem or Matt Whaleberg Slim Shadys because whites are Hunters, Pat Mahomes supports Reparations because he helped Floyd get 33M we pay athletes so much because Nike is on Hong Kong and we owe 1T in trade deficit owed to China mostly

Old School Rep knows this and even if DeSantis becomes Prez which he never will because of VA and AZ and GA, he won't get another tax cut passed, Collins, Murkowski and Romney said like McCain they aren't for tax increase but not for more tax cuts and Collins is endangered in 26 even with a DeSantis Prez, due to Jared Golden

I started applying for jobs again recently. I have already applied to most of the exciting jobs, leaving a large body of less exciting, but easier to get and maybe even better paying jobs, ahead of me. Some of these are materially good enough gigs that I'm actually quite nervous applying for them, which has resulted in a growing pile of incomplete cover letters, as I seek to appear "perfect".

Way on the other end, I applied--with typos in my cover letter, I later found out--to a temporary NGO position in Moldova. Today I was contacted (in French) by someone hiring for the same position in Jordan. The job posting says they are hiring "ASAP", which has me nervous, since AFAIC I am booked until at least March, and moving to the desert only to speak English (or maybe fail at speaking Arabic) does not represent the same opportunity to me as a job in a Slavic-speaking country. That said, some of the pictures of Jordan look stunning, and I am out of interview practice, so I figure I should give this a shot and find out the cut of their jib.

Santos controversy helps Matthew Sancrainte, he is openly gay like Santos and Rs were ignoring FL, because DeSantis won by 20, now Scott can't use Sancrainte being gay as a way to sure up conservative vote, victory has Biden up by 2 in AaRP poll, due to suburb female that still voted R even though with R underperforming

I have a feeling now FL will now go D instead of NC but Josh STEIN will win like Beshear with split vote

As I said before RS are way too confident about DeSantis the only Maga R to win was Vance, OH is a purple state but not a 303 state and the RS held onto WI Sen but Gov Evers is blocking R win there

From History longest Platform of GOP British because Lincoln's were close to Victoria she freed slaves too and pro religious, both parties are religious it flipped Secular v Traditional during Reagan era, Ds have been close allies with French

The GOP party has always been the Godly party but during Lincoln it was freedom to chose religion not freed from Religion like Dixiecrats, they said if God or the First 10 Amendments not withstand the 13)14)15 Amendments then Blks were supposed to be in Apartheid Slavery, chain gangs or segregated schools no Public Defender until 1963 after they outlawed Chain gangs, that's incorrect because Moses freed Jews from Pharoah and Jesus freed Jews from Rome 300 yrs when Rome became Catholic.

It flipped during the Reagan era when he was against South Africa Apartheid and ran the Southern Strategies, now Ds offer entitlement but Conservative groups and celebrities donate to charity and homeless shelter

Lincoln was a conservative by religion, Dixiecrats were conservative by choice thru Apartheid it's called compassionate conservatism if you are Secular and Traditional if you are on the right like Dixiecrats

McCain lost his Prez due to white privilege when Larry Craig wanted to escape his down low misdemeanor charge, white privilege a yr before 2007 Eday broke because McCain was a Maverick like Lincoln and  R convention was in MN, Coleman said Craig must resign

Users especially RS forget Craig and say it's the Economy or Palin it was Craig, McCain used a Southern Strategies Rev Wright to copy Hillary it was all on Hannity, Romney didn't use it in 2012 that's why users forgot

No. Depart SFO then JFK, Charlotte, and then Munich. Least expensive from a mileage standpoint.

As I said History is a repeat you can always reverse Secularism and Traditionalism like Christ Conservatism is talking about not killing God Babies and people should be fruitful and Multiply

But Catholic priest are single and so are nuns of you don't get married or have kids or work for a living it's okay God loves everyone

Inequality has gotten so much worse due to automation it's very hard to have large families but Bush W campaign against SSM as an Evangelical and Larry Craig down low came out a yr prior to 2008 and the Foley Scandal came out in 2006 a reverse of 2004 of Defense of marriages

Jesus didn't have a family he walked 33 yr without one and who knows you maybe reincarnated

You can put your own interpretation on what is Conservative or Secular just like Communism is socialist but it has a red flag because it has authoritarian

That's why blks refuse to say they were Dixiecrats in 1800 but proudly say Secular now we were the Frederick Douglass R party and Jefferson was the Robert C Byrd Dixiecrats but it's confusing alot of segregationist fought for Israel against Holocaust and against Communism like Truman whom was a Klansman now QAnon today before he was Veep to FDR

Had a good preliminary interview with a job in Denver. The pay looks very nice but that's not accounting for Denver CoL. Plus, Denver's not really all it's cracked up to be, if we're being honest.

In Denver now. I've now visited almost enough states to win the EC if for some reason they voted for me just for that reason.
