Sometimes you have to accept you need a break. It's hard, but your life gets better when you accept that life is a marathon and you can space things out a bit.

Well said, which coincidentally is precisely why I'm taking a break from this place.  It's a holiday week, and I've wasted enough of it here.

Since I'm up to Oklahoma on Tuesday, I've switched the avvie as the last act.

NOTE: Okay penultimate act, I couldn't resist one other thread, ok thx bye.

Apparently I keep meeting look-alikes of famous people at work and today it was Rashida Tlaib. So far I've met an Iranian guy who looked like Saddam post '03, Biden but with a cane, and Salman Khan (Bollywood actor) and now this. Who do you think I'll meet next?

I’ll be graduating from my Masters with a Distinction!

Really thought I might have flubbed it, but managed to make it through despite COVID screwing up all my original research plans.

Fees a bit weird, because I’ve just moved cross-country to a new city, on a tight budget now I’m living off a PhD stipend and trying to save-up, so I can’t really celebrate with friends. Guess the result is relief enough though.

This is a famous quote of mine PBOWER2A whom many suspect is Cookie Damage, Solid or Brucejoel famous for making NUT MAPS, said Biden has a 59 percent Approvals rating

It just so happens when Biden Approvals go down Brucejoel disappears, he was online as much as me

Now, he doesn't respond but at same time users are making it out to be the End of the Democratic party because Biden had bad polls s yr before an election

Both extremes are terrible it's a 304 map Neutral yr and Biden doesn't have to be at 50 percent in every battleground, if McCounghey is ahead of Abbott, then we can still win wave insurance seats, I am a Beto fan how, I was in it for Beto when he was running, I endorsed Beto, Booker, Harris and Warren and he would be the Fab in 28 if he wins Gov

We lost VA and nearly lost NJ and Cali due to fact we didn't have all of our delegation up the US H of Rep with Spam berger could have given TMac enough votes from her district and other suburbs surrounding it to top the scale

It's a rural v urban divide suburbs are still swingy

CEO of a hotel chain was at the next table and stopped to say hello. Interested in doing business together. We were both wearing Rolex Explorers, which was fun.

Update:

Had met a Latino guy at work earlier today who unironically looked like Tamerlane

Honestly wasn't that bad. Deadoman said the needle was tiny and he was right. Hardly felt it. At the end they gave me a Pokémon bandaid and mines had MUDKIP

Did a Rasmussen Reports poll last night. We’ll see what the overall results are. It was a robo-poll, fwiw.

Looking forward to my trip to Lima and Huaraz Peru in January! In a few hours, I can legit say I am going next month.

Only around 5% of tourists go north of Lima during their stay.. Huaraz is not exactly an invisible tourist destination but most of the other tourists will be Limenos or locals to Peru.

I have local friends in Peru so this will be a great experience. Despite taking the typical gringo trail in 2014.. I was with locals.. and remember riding the bus the locals ride to Machu Picchu very vividly.

The only thing I will splurge on is the overnight bus tickets I brought from LIM to HUARAZ and Return trip will be a "suite" so I can sleep  all night.

Fun fact: Washington Dc and Roanoke are approx the same distance as Huaraz and Lima but the latter takes 8 hours to get  to due to the extreme elevation.

Well this may be all cancelled

I dont want to quarantine in my own country as someone who received three shots for covid upon return to the United States
