I got accepted into the honors college for one of my safety schools and even received some generous scholarship money (like 20k/yr)
Depending on how much other schools offer/if I get accepted, it’s a good backup.

I’m still unsure and may have some tough decisions to make in a few weeks but this is extremely reassuring.

I continue to realize that I have some dark racist parts of me

Earlier tonight I found the N word scribbled on my ceiling, most likely from when I was being bullied by the only black kid in my grade (I had a loft bed)

It explains how I went through that phase where I was like "haha n word funni" for as long as I did.

Just took my first law school exam (virtually of course). Totally blindsided by half of it of it but managed to scrape something together. Praying I pass and earn my former gay activist professor’s approval.

I couldn’t find a swastika cake so I got the one with Al Roker with the Hershey kiss nipples instead.

My cousin with whom I grew up in LA (I am five days her senior) just got married down at the Hudson waterfront after 32 years of living in "sin." My partner Dan made the leis, one flower at a time, and here he is working on improving my sartorial presentation (which he thinks almost invariably needs work), right before the knot is tied.

Seeing you in those sunglasses, I have to say:

Torie, I voted for Joe Biden. I know Joe Biden. Joe Biden will be my President. Torie, you're no Joe Biden.

I just posted something on my Facebook to the effect of "I voted for Trump and am disappointed in the results of the election, but it's time that we accept the results and focus on the GA Senate runoffs, rather than saying it was rigged", along with a religious message about not idolizing politicians.  I'm really not expecting it to go "well", given the number people that I know who casually talk about the election being stolen, but I felt like I needed to say it.

Three days ago a friend of mine lost one of his parents to cancer. It's the third time in the last few years that a friend of mine who's around my age loses a parent to cancer. In addition to a colleague of my mother who died in the same way a couple years ago.

Damn stupid coal-fired Enel plant in Melara. I hate you.

rather than saying it was rigged", along with a religious message about not idolizing politicians.

I wish more people with come around to this thinking. The American electorate has really gone wayward with its total obsession and servility to presidents. I don't even know that most voters understand the actual role of POTUS and/or the very real limits of their power, but the way people have deified some recent presidents over the past generation, particularly this last one, is probably a worthy reason for rethinking how we run our government (in my likely fringe opinion). It should worry anyone who is skeptical of government power the degree to which people mindlessly took up whatever position or idea Donald Trump decided was correct, regardless of whether it made sense or had any evidence whatsoever behind it. The number of times Trump injected fringe theories into the minds of his supporters or destroyed the careers of people who went against him is too numerous to count. And this isn't a uniquely Trumpian effect. He's just the biggest example of it so far, having pushed the limits of acceptable behavior at every turn in ways that we probably won't see again for some time, if ever.

Somewhere along the way, people, particularly conservatives right now, forgot that these people are just politicians. They deserve a heaping dose of skepticism no matter what. Not this unconditional trust and support that God itself would be envious of.

The idea of organized religion annoys me a bit. Ardently anti-religious people annoy me a lot.

I randomly rediscovered this from a post of mine in July.

I (very respectfully) disagree.

- You base your life, at least partially, on God
- You consider the pope to be one of the highest authorities on God
- The pope interprets God and God's morality to be "woke"
- You listen when the pope tells you things

Ergo, it seems to me that you partially base your life on wokeness, indirectly.

Are you telling me that woke is now just a synonym for good? What strange times we live in.

I cannot imagine going through this big of an ideological shift in six months. What the heck happened?

It actually happened pretty much all between August and September. Long story short I just started feeling a stronger need for (socialized? formalized?) spirituality, and then I got tripped with Catholicism, I guess. I would not have imagined that to befall me either, but what can I say, God works in mysterious ways (or, for atheists, Atlas melted my brain).
I wouldn't call that a big ideological shift actually, especially in so much as politics is concerned.

By the way, as you can see from our interactions the non-bolded sentence is as strong as ever Smiley

Why 21? Matteo Politano? Sergej Milinković-Savić?

He's probably going to answer that L-CN is a very sensible avatar because China is the most capitalist country in the world.
Your new display name is also lit, by the way.

Blake Shelton - Honey Bee

Remember when country music was still good?

My goodness, I forgot this song existed. 😍 The last great mainstream country song. (I see the next year had Let It Rain, Woman Like You and Springsteen and Chris Young was still pumping out neo-trad songs but point stands.) It seems like only Eric Church has been able to put a decent song on radio since that time...
