Well I got a call back and a bonus, I’ve been crying tears of joy for a few hours today.

I also gave up on hiding myself any more. I am not letting the damage of being in the closet and remaining restricted destroy me any more. It’s made me embittered and turned myself into a perverse, weak willed person I have come to despise. I am going to be free and find love and joy in this life. For the first time in a long time, I’ve realized that if I don’t be free in surviving and thriving now, I won’t live another 2-3 years. I am going to make it.

Had an Atlas moment today

Was slacking off while working from home, had a Wikipedia page about Helmut Kohl, Facebook, and WhatsApp open on Chrome in addition to work stuff.

Coworker calls me on Slack out of the blue, says we need to redo a tax calculation for July due to some correction bookings. I exit out of FB and WhatsApp but forget that the Kohl article is open between three tabs of work stuff.

I share my screen and work for about 10 minutes with him on the call before I realized that the Kohl article was clearly visible in the browser bar.

Been on the road driving a pickup halfway across the country for work. I’ve hit three new states, loads of counties and I’ve seen a good amount of birds. Haven’t kept up with the news that much, which is admittedly rather refreshing.

Today I finally got my pay of 208€ as a poll worker in June's local elections. A nice way to transition off a particularly underwhelming period (or so I hope).

Catching a flight to Bozeman, MT to hang out with my brother before my flight to Yerevan two Sundays from now. I was also hoping to squeeze-in a trip to the Upper Peninsula, but such is life. It's really gonna hurt when my savings run out. Tongue

Can't wait til EDay, Biden is at 47/52 that's enough for a Big blue wave now Urban vote, votes first and rural votes last, but they're all counted on EDay and after there won the a red wave it's a blue wave

I just got an invitation to interview for one of my really long-shot job applications. And while I still think it's very unlikely it'll go anywhere, just the fact that I got noticed by a team of researchers I've followed for about four years has me totally manic to prepare for it.

There should be a direct Bozeman-to-Yerevan flight. It would pull in some really cool people even if it was only a few dozen per year.

I flew main cabin and wore shorts, so I couldn't get a sick shot of my kicks on the airplane, but in Montana I have arrived.

I luckily will not be flying directly from here to Yerevan, though Detroit to Yerevan is almost as bad--26 hours! I would have to imagine any other potential users of the BZN -> EVN direct flight would have to be some weird mix of outdoors geeks (to include both hikers and geologists), resource extraction or emergency management professionals, maybe a scholar or two, and potential foreign fighters (in either direction Tongue).

Headed back to Detroit in a few hours. Since we went into Yellowstone, that makes Wyoming my second new state of the year (after Pennsylvania).
