There is a difference between being a D and quoting R talking pts we don't know how the Election is gonna be decided and users and D's are still talking R talking pts it's still inly May and it's not gonna be decided based on only the Latino vote it's gonna also be decided on White Women, white men like on Atlas are Rs

There are many people hurting and Rs stopped stimulus checks not D's because they refuse to raise Corporate taxes from 20)27 PERCENT

Like I said did we get quick R results last time, Trump thought he won and when Provisional and military ballots, there are alot more females in military he Lost and it's gonna be the same this timw

F*** me, what a night.

First, Californian lass says you look like General Buck Turgidson from Dr Strangelove. Then a couple of hours later you do a full dance routine to New York with a different girl on the floor of the club (props to the ballet training as a youth). To be young, stupid and have no future, I love London.

What a hero.

Been a hectic few weeks and it'll be even moreso soon enough. My official move-out date is the 13th, but since I have a conference the 10th through the 12th, I've pretty much gotta be out by the end of next weekend. I'm enrolled at Indiana but still missing a class they have yet to post, and don't know my dorm sitch. I'm cautious and a procrastinator, so because of this I haven't officially given notice or turned down the job offer (which I have mysteriously not been reached about despite it being 3 weeks since they sent it to me). I've also got the bad feeling I won't go entirely through with my "career suicide"/"gap year" plans since some project manager slots may be opening at places where I know people (AND a uni where I was waitlisted reached out about whether or not I had committed to another school yet). Squinting

Yeah, as soon as Rs takeover in Nov it's gonna be the samething as I previously said but they're gonna cut spending even more in lieu of giving more aid to Ukraine, there isn't anything that the they're not doing now when they get in charge, look at the Boehner yrs did he do something big and bold no he didnt

So, Rs will celebrate, on EDay if they get both House's certainly but there isn't gonna be any one specific bill thats gonna galvanized D's and Rs like the 1.9 T bill that was passed in 2021 that gave us all stimulus

I got a really good job offer in California.

Now time for some thinking and decision needs to be made fast.

Not going to do it.

I dont expect next recession to be like the great recession but suspect that people hired at inflated salaries will be first to get axed.

I only moved to VA unexpectedly 2 and half years ago and it was draining. Plus the place I was going to move to in CA is almost the most isolated spot possible.  I also appreciate living in a mega metropolitan area.

Moving to California would be different than if I moved to Missouri or Utah.. states I grew up in.

CA is a great state. I obviously don't know the whole situation but if the primary reason you're unwilling to do it is because you don't want to move to CA, let me just say CA isn't nearly as bad as the Republicans make it out to be. Obviously, that would depend on which part of CA we're discussing, but I digress...

I would have lived in the Sierras and cut off from metropolitan California.  I have an international trip planned next winter and had plans to return to school for another degree literally in two weeks. That is a lot to postpone or cancel over a job offer even if it was a very good job.

I also remember living in Utah... I rarely had the chance to appreciate it mountains. Living in VA taught me to appreciate what I have. Some locals here say they don't have the mountains of the west or the beaches of Florida. Well, the mid Atlantic does have beautiful mountains even if small and at least we have beaches. I am from a land locked state that is mainly flat.

In Nova, I didn't have to worry much of crime for the first time in my life.

And also I ultimately had to make a decision. But considering I do want further education and remember how draining it was mentally for me to move from MO to VA, I decided to stay in VA over California.   And of course, my concerns of recession and in a new position with inflated salary are valid.

It turns out I am not literally built different from you hoes, and actually do have COVID.

I'm in good spirits and my symptoms are pretty mild. Still sucks ass. Especially considering I'm gonna be spending my birthday in quarantine.

mfw you're asked a simple question about socialist policies and its effects on economic development, and you instead somehow end up writing an essay on the economic history of the soviet union

I hope D's overperformed on Election night but even if we lose we still have 24/26/28

What did Biden say when Trump lost even if you lose you can try again some of these can run again, Ryan has a political future get in Bidens cabinet and run against Renacci for Gov in 2026 if he loses, WI will always be WI and PA will always be PA

Today I turned down a $12-15K salary increase because of... [checks notes] "work depression and a quarter life crisis". I don't feel especially regretful--mostly relieved--but I am still in a bit of disbelief. As a liberal arts student, I never thought I would even have job offers to turn down!

I also went to the doctor because overseas volunteer gigs want medical disclosures and I wanted to know what I could get away with lying about.

So now it's down to completing some applications and choosing a school for Russian immersion. I thought Indiana was a lock, but the (graduate) cost surprised me, so now I'm waiting to see if I can weasel a scholarship out of Pittsburgh. The savings could make it worth attending an inferior program.

Oh yeah, I also have to move and return some tech equipment. Tongue

It's time for me to take a bit of a break from this forum.  I'm recent weeks, I've felt that the casual mockery of or disdain for evangelical Christian beliefs has grown to very high levels.  Since the leaked ruling in the Dobbs case, the hate and vitriol I've seen here towards pro-life views has grown massively.

I am on the verge of seeing what I've waited and prayed for years about finally happen.  Really, it's the biggest reason I care about politics at all.  But, here, it's getting really tiring to feel like I have to constantly fight multiple battles, lest I ignore a question and be called out for not having an answer to that.

I do want people to understand that most evangelicals are not Joel Osteen.  I feel like a lot of users have this caricature of evangelicals as people like him who seem go be most concerned with money and comfort.  That has never been my experience in evangelical churches.

Right now, I have to go for now.  I've found myself getting progressively angrier and angrier about the viewpoints shared and the way that people respond to mine.  I worry that said anger or frustration is starting to come out in my posts and is causing me not to be a good witness for my faith to the Atlas community.

I don't know whether I'll stop posting for a few days, a few months, or longer.  But, when I do post here, I want to communicate my faith and how it leads me to view major moral issues in a productive way that will glorify God.  In my real life, I'd say that 95%+ of my friends share my faith and are pro-life.

The likely overturning of Roe v. Wade is a time to celebrate God answering a major, long-term prayer of mine.  It's not the time for me to feel angry on an internet forum and lose my witness to it.  On Tuesday night, I was at a worship night and just felt so free and so grateful to God while worshipping when I can see what He's doing right before my eyes.

God Bless y'all and see you soon!!

P.S. If anyone wants to know about how to follow Jesus, please DM me!  I'll get an email notification, so I will know to check!!

This leak has done one thing good, at least- it soured the glee of the people who wish to make women a walking womb and bring human rights in the US decades back. That's not much, considering the US Supreme Court is now an institution with the social positions of the 1980s, but it's something

It looks like Overturned Roe along with Rs tax cuts for the rich both issues are gonna galvanize D's  and female in the Fall I hope so we need Ryan, Franken in the S to get us PR and DC Statehood and DeSantis always underpolls FL is definitely needed as wave insurance for the H, D's are already coming back because Walker was up by 10 and now Warnock is up 50)45

That' why it's good like me to make a wave insurance map you never know what might happen but it's both Roe and Rs tax cuts for the wealthy we need them to go up

I never make R nit maps and in 2014 D's were winning the last Election Rs won because Hilary won the PVI , D's were winning until the final weekend and Pelosi was expecting D's to flip the H

We have spent 8 T on the War on Terror let the wealthy pay more in taxes for this Ukraine war

Work conference out of town. It's bittersweet, because I'm meeting some cool colleagues from other regions, with whom I might be able to accomplish things, yet I'm about to dip for what they would see as no good reason.
