Trying to pick a well mixed court with lots of ideology
Chief Justice MarkD(every poster should have him even if they don't want the court to be composed solely of his ideology), maybe shouldn't be chief due to other arguments that could arise.

Associate John Dule- He is very strongly pro choice but also sees that Roe is a bad judicial decision, a good sign of being objective on the court and will not show political bias.

Associate-BruceJoel-surprised no one else has mentioned him so far, don't fully like his philosophy but he I did at least like the explanation he gave to us about ACB's decision with the rape case.

Associate-JDB see above and he said the problem with the ACB rape case was the law and not ACB applying the law in a probably correct manner. I like the fact he admitted that which shows he disagrees with what happened but he disagrees because the law is wrong.

Associate-Reagente- Interesting dude although will probably be hackish with certain decisions but doesn't have power to make that by himself.

Associate TJ in Oregon- strong moral compass in a more conservative direction compared to the liberals I had so far and would be interesting.

Associate OSR-moderate originalism would be fine on the bench.

True Federalist- Judicial restraint with some pragmaticism would be useful.

Associate-Nathan would have to see how he applies the law, probably wouldn't agree with too much but I did want a well rounded court that is still based on originalism/textualism as a larger base with 2  conservatives" and 3 leftists who do still keep a solid degree of restraint compared to the recent calls on this forum from leftists who believe the constitution is utter trash and they should completely legislate from the bench.

Some bonus's I would consider would be Avveroes and Cath if I could figure out a bit more about their judicial ideology

Also Mr.R of course but he hasn't been on in a while.

Would also consider RoboWop but he would probably go full fascist.
Dereich seems great from what I have seen although I don't know too much about him .

Chief Justice MarkD
Associate Justice Cath
Associate Justice Nathan
Associate Justice Scott
Associate Justice Averroës
Associate Justice afleitch
Associate Justice Antonio
Associate Justice North Carolina Yankee
Associate Justice brucejoel99

Lol, I am joking, obviously it would be this:

Chief Justice Cath
Associate Justice Nathan
Associate Justice Illiniwek
Associate Justice RI
Associate Justice TJ
Don't care for the other four but of course one of them must be HenryWallaceVP

Going to make this 4-4-1 to be fair

Chief Justice: President Johnson (D-Germany)
Associate Justice: General MacArthur (D-WA)
Associate Justice: Virginia (D-FL)
Associate Justice: Blairite (D-CA)
Associate Justice: Wulfric (I-MN) (swing vote)
Associate Justice: PennQuakerGirl (R-TX)
Associate Justice: Old School Republican (R-OR)
Associate Justice: RINO Tom (R-IL)
Associate Justice: whitesox (R-IL)

Pretty moderate court, and what I wished our judiciary looked more like

He's not?

He has an interesting philosophy with regards to the court and is honestly very objective in his values with regard to the court. He wanted to see  sodomy laws repealed in the 1980s as he himself is gay but at the same time disagreed with Texas v Lawrence in 2003. Maybe you don't have to see his view as correct but if one was to place a token "right winger" on the court it would obviously have to be MarkD.

Don't even see why you have to insult Mark by calling him a nutter just because you disagree with him. He may be a bit obsessed about the Supreme court but that's absolutely fine for this "job"

Opposing a fundamental right to privacy isn't "interesting", it's destructive. This is America, not North Korea.

I'd obviously want a Court with a decided leftward tilt, but with some more conservative and centrist folks for balance.

Chief Justice: President Johnson (D-Germany)
Associate Justice: Harry S. Truman (D-Indiana)
Associate Justice: MB (D-Oregon)
Associate Justice: Pericles (D-New Zealand)
Associate Justice: Oregon Blue Dog (D-Oregon) or brucejoel99 (D-Florida)
Associate Justice: KaiserDave (D-New York)
Associate Justice: Either Penn_Quaker_Girl (R-Texas) or AndriyValeriovich (D-Ukraine)
Associate Justice: lfromnj (L-New Jersey)
Associate Justice: Old School Republican (R-Oregon)

This court would do the job, and has a lot of Oregon representation to boot. Truman, MB, and Pericles would form a strongly Progressive bloc, while PJ, Kaiser, and me will serve as a triple swing vote. I appointed PJ as Chief as he best represents the direction I'd like this court to go towards. On the conservative side, I'd appoint lfromnj and Old School Republican for common-sense conservative balance, as well as either PQG or Andriy for another moderate-leaning-conservative voice.

Opposing a fundamental right to privacy isn't "interesting", it's destructive. This is America, not North Korea.

He may support there being a fundamental right to privacy provided it comes through proper and clear means. He doesn't however support streching the current constitution to create that right. If I remember correctly he is pro choice.

He believes the fundamental right to privacy created has about a strong legal basis as the "fundamental right to contract" created in Lochner v New York.

Im not saying everyone should be forced to pick 9 clones of MarkD, I am just saying he should be in almost everyone's list for 1/9 spots unless one just wanted to pick 9 libs/pure cons.

Appointing yourself to the list sounds... I don't know, kind of against the rules, even though there are not any actual rules.

MarkD
John Dule
Torie
North Carolina Yankee
Nathan
Sir Mohammed
Dereich
Antonio
Del Tachi

Del Tachi would be Chief Justice, and he is the only one whose judicial philosophy I know, besides MarkD. It would be interesting to see how the Court ruled.

Serious answer:

BRUCEJOEL, CJ
TRUE FEDERALIST, J
LFROMNJ, J
CATH, J
KAISERDAVE, J
MARKD, J
BADGER, J
DONERAIL, J
SCOTT, J
DEL TACHI, J
KINGPOLEON, J
JOHN DULE, J
DEAD0MAN, J

Basically the first thirteen people who came to mind who post regularly in judiciary-related threads and who I think care about the quality of judicial reasoning and generally make cogent points about the law. I didn't pay attention to the ideological balance while compiling this list, but eyeballing it, it looks like most "socially liberal" precedents should be safe unless a couple of the yellow avatars go full judicial minimalist. I count at least 8 votes out of 13 for upholding the ACA and other kinda-technocratic-kinda-social-democratic type laws.
