See, I've still thought he's not much of a type to be a Democrat even before he ever got into the criminal world. The whole point of the show stemmed from his obsession with self-reliance and not taking handouts or "charity". Sure, he's a public school teacher with a postgraduate degree but a still very big minority of those are right-leaning.

Also, cmon, Trump and Heisenberg are one and the same. Greedy, egotistical, willing to do anything to get their way. But you do have a point there. Walt might resent Trump for doing something he couldn't do instead of respecting him.
