What kind of voter would support Clinton in 2016, but Hawkins in 2020?

A left-wing Bernie voter who moved from a swing state to a safe blue state, so does not feel obligated to vote for Biden.

A Democrat who thinks 2020 will be a poisoned chalice.

A left wing voter in Maine who probably voted Bernie in the primary. Strongly dislikes Hillary (and likely Biden too) but 'held their nose' and voted for her purely as an anti-Trump vote. But now with Maine's new ranked choice voting system they can vote Green 'safely' without it helping Trump.

A Sanders supporter in both 2016 and 2020 who voted for Clinton largely out of the fear of a Trump presidency, but now that it is a reality sees no reason to hold their nose - especially with Biden as the Democratic nominee (this was at least my logic when considering voting for Hawkins).

Someone who has always been socially liberal but only recently became a leftist. A Sanders supporter, maybe, but Stein 2016/Biden 2020 is the more likely path for that group.

A Democrat who thinks 2020 will be a poisoned chalice.

That's a good point- 2020 may well be a poisoned chalice, but I doubt any voter is thinking like that right now. Quite the opposite, actually. Republicans and Democrats believe that the other party will destroy America if they win, and that they have to be defeated at all costs.
