I’ll start with 1960:

1960: VP
1964: VP
1968: President
1972: President
1976: VP
1980: VP
1984: VP
1988: President
1992: VP
1996: VP
2000: President
2004: President
2008: President
2012: President
2016: VP

Edit: For each party:
1960: VP for both
1964: VP for both
1968: President for both
1972: President for both
1976: Ford > Dole, Mondale > Carter
1980: VP for both
1984: Mondale > Farraro, Bush > Reagan
1988: President for both
1992: Gore > Clinton, Bush > Quayle
1996: Gore > Clinton, Dole > Quayle
2000: President for both
2004: President for both
2008: President for both
2012: President for both
2016: Clinton > Kaine, Pence > Trump
2020: VP for both

1960: President (D), VP (R)
1964: President (D), President (R)
1968: President (D), President (R)
1972: VP (D), President (R)
1976: President (D), President (R)
1980: President (D), VP (R)
1984: VP (D), VP (R)
1988: VP (D), President (R)
1992: President (D), President (R)
1996: President (D), President (R)
2000: President (D), President (R)
2004: President (D), President (R)
2008: President (D), President (R)
2012: President (D), President (R)
2016: President (D), VP (R)
2020: President (D), VP (R)

In 1964, 1968, 1972, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2016, and 2020, my real answer is “neither” for the GOP ticket as I dislike both candidates.

It’s really “neither” for both tickets in 1972, honestly.

In 1960, 1964, 1992, 1996, 2008, and 2012, my real answer is “both” for the Democratic ticket as I really like both candidates.

There is a wide gap between who I prefer on the GOP ticket and the other candidate in 1960, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 2008, and 2012.

There is a wide gap between who I prefer on the Democratic ticket and the other candidate in 1976, 1980, 1988, 2000, 2004, and 2016.

John Edwards is literally the worst VP nominee in modern history imo. I’d vote for AOC or someone else like that over Edwards, without hesitation.

Also, Bush was more hawkish in 2004.
