Maine seems to be doing a great job of it and Alaska has it on the ballot this cycle. So can this expand to the other 48? Maine and Alaska are small white states that have unique political cultures that often involve voting for third party candidates so can RCV work in browner and less involved states?

And it should pass easily. I don't think there's any organized opposition to it.

I'd love to see it in CA, but then I'd remember how much longer the ballots would take to count. It'd be great for primaries though.

I feel like Colorado would be a great state to try it. Minnesota as well

I think Montana would be open to it.

Unfortunately, the states where RCV would help the most (polarized Southern states) are the least likely to adopt it.

It might be possible to make it into a party-transcender like Medicaid expansion, but it will be difficult.

I think it will almost certainly pass in MA and maybe in AK in AK i say its 50/50 if it will pass AK is a state that would really benefit with RCV I think RCV is a great system for small states lik I think VT CO MN and HI should adopt it but it could make counting in CA and NY take a ridiculous amount of time if we come up with a better tabulation system then the one they use in Maine then I think all the states should adopt it but as it is now I think we should only have the smaller states use it try it and get better at conducting elections with that system. I used to be in favor of Jungle Primaries but after seeing it in action in the midterms ive realized its a undemocratic system designed to push politics to the center and crush third parties  rather than cater to the will of the people and Im in favor of getting rid of it

I expect Utah will pass it for most elections within the next four years, though I plan to do my damnedest to steer them off that direction and towards actually good voting systems (rather than being bad but better than the worst voting system, as RCV/IRV is to FPTP) as soon as I have the means to try. They already passed a state law allowing municipalities to use it for local elections if they so desire a year or two ago.
