Let me help you then:  over 2.8 million Americans died in 2019, and the median age of a COVID decadent is 78 years (same as U.S. life expectancy at birth)

The good thing about vaccine distribution is that we don’t need to vaccinate the general public inorder to reduce deaths to a tiny fraction of what we see today. 

97% of covid deaths come from people over 50.  Almost all of those under 50 have a serious prexisting conditions.  So given that those demographics will be vaccinated around February, we should see deaths drop by 90% or more as long as vulnerable people are willing to get the vaccine.

Anti intellectualism and conspiracy theories are getting more popular with the MAGA cult. A lot of people are going to say Tony Fauci is a agent of the deep state, and will refuse to get a vaccine to 'own the libs'.

Why are women so much less likely to say they will get it than men?

This is true across a lot of "health and wellness" sort of things. IIRC, women are also less likely to like GMOs and more likely to buy organic, and are much more likely to be anti-vaxxers.

The anti vaxxer crowd also seems like the people who would try a all fruit diet if they had cancer.

How did Israel get access to so much vaccine?  They’ve already vaccinated 20% of their population; not other major country is over 2%.  Even if we had actually used all our supply, we’d only be at 6%.

Pfizer has agreed to speed distribution to Israel in exchange for records of adverse reactions. Israel keeps more records of their citizens, uses paper ballots, requires ID to vote, and has walls to keep out illegal immigrants.

The number of new cases is going down.

Great news! The farmers are getting the blizzards that their crops need in Michigan, driving conditions are getting hazardous, and people won't be out and about spreading COVID-19.

Deaths from COVID-19 are a lagging indicator, although they remain a tragedy. The Grim Reaper has taken more lives in America now than the population of Miami (42nd-largest city in the USA) from COVID-19 alone.

Maybe the vaccines are starting to help, though I think we are going to experience a very potent wave in a few weeks due to the variants (which are vaccine-resistant, can reinfect people, and have a much higher mortality rate).

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are 95% effective. Even with a loss of effectiveness due to new strains, it should still at least be 80% effective. The idea that new variants are going to make the vaccines useless is fear mongering.

I think right now the U.S. is at 21 days in a row of declining cases. This hasn't happened since May.

Also, it does look like Alabama may be the first state to have full herd immunity.

The Spanish Flu had 4 waves, this Delta variant is wave 4 and could be the last Covid wave.

Here's an updated map of counties that have fully vaccinated 70% of the eligible (12+) population. Counties in white don't have data, or don't release relevant data. (VT publishes only 1st dose data by county. ID only releases data for all citizens and all adults, but not 12+. Blaine County, ID is at 70+% for all citizens, so it can be assumed they have hit 70% of all eligible.)

Good to see the Latinos in Puerto Rico, the RGV and Imperial County with high vaccination rates. I thought that they would be at the same level as rural whites.
