How did Israel get access to so much vaccine?  They’ve already vaccinated 20% of their population; not other major country is over 2%.  Even if we had actually used all our supply, we’d only be at 6%.
Prime Minister Netanyahu?

Pfizer has agreed to speed distribution to Israel in exchange for records of adverse reactions. Israel keeps more records of their citizens, uses paper ballots, requires ID to vote, and has walls to keep out illegal immigrants.

Ah, so build the wall so we can all get vaccinated. Ok.

All the MAGA cultist anti vaxxers in the US are dragging down the numbers.

It's shocking what a disingenuous, belligerent nutcase jimrtex is when discussing the actual issues. He should really stick to the redistricting app.
Why do you think states with Republican governors are doing better with actual application of vaccinations?

For example, there are 16 States with more than 3% vaccinated. 11 of those 15 have Republican governors:

WV, SD, ND, VT, AK, NE, NH, MT, TN, IA, OK

Only five have Democrat governors.

ME, CT, CO, NM, RI

President Trump should get more doses to the Dakotas so that they don't run out.

At a glance, this looks practically like a list of the smallest states.

I don't know about hospitalizations yet, but new case numbers in the U.S. just absolutely crashed today - 64,297.

Real or just reporting delays?

Thank you President Trump and Governors Burgum, Dunleavy, Justice, Lujan Grisham, and Noem!!!

Most of the recent increase is due to second doses being administered, and is due to planning by President Trump administration to not exhaust supplies on first doses.

I’m gonna get LMAO NOEM tattooed on my knuckles so I can punch Republicans who like her despite her horrific failure on Covid in the face. Especially when she’s Trump’s running mate in 2024.

Biden very quickly earning his place as one of our greatest presidents.

Now this doesn’t mean every adult will *be* vaccinated, or that some of those vaccines won’t expire and we’ll need new ones. But it seems like at least at the national level supply issues will be a thing of the past.

It feels like every other day we get loud calls to change the thread name, yet they never get answered. It's been like this for months now.

What's the hold-up?

We are the forgotten people.

Democrats have to start to listen to Trump science as DeSantis did.

Isn’t this precisely what Biden is attempting to do? Isn’t that why he picked Cardona for education secretary?

I'm so glad we elected this man over the prior clown

Is this based on what states have already publicly communicated or is Biden instructing all states to open even earlier than May 1 to all adults?

Reads to me like the first one.

Will the johnson and johnson be delay the return to normalcy?

I think the mistake was at a factory making vaccines to be shipped to another country.

I believe this study has already been noticed here, but I missed the school re-openings part.

Why Is All COVID-19 News Bad News?
Quote
We analyze the tone of COVID-19 related English-language news articles written since January 1, 2020. Eighty seven percent of stories by U.S. major media outlets are negative in tone versus fifty percent for non-U.S. major sources and sixty four percent for scientific journals. The negativity of the U.S. major media is notable even in areas with positive developments including school re-openings and vaccine trials. Media negativity is unresponsive to changing trends in new COVID-19 cases or the political leanings of the audience. As evidenced by most viewed and most shared major media readers in the U.S. and U.K. strongly prefer negative stories about COVID19, and negative stories in general. But the U.S. major media is more willing to satisfy this demand for negativity in both COVID and pre-COVID years. We suggest that this American exceptionalism stems from the lack of fair and balanced media laws and a lack of a large public option in the U.S. media. The causal impacts of this negative COVID coverage are less obvious; counties in the U.S. that rely more heavily on the major media are as likely to re-open schools as other similar counties

Is PBS, being a quasi-public option, significantly more positive than the rest of the news media in the USA?

Pfizer #1 gave me several side effects. Major headache, dizziness etc. Which made me scared about Pfizer #2..

Pfizer #2 gave me zero side effects whatsoever and if anything I feel much better than I have in a very long time after being injected with Pfizer 2.

Rumor has it that means you’ve already had Covid at some point.

Got my second dose (pfizer) today and didn’t feel anything. Last time they stuck the needle in for a while presumably to insert the vaccine but this time it was super quick. My arm isn’t even sore. Apparently a lot of people’s reactions have been “did they even give me anything?”

I just hope I don’t feel like I have the flu tomorrow

I definitely didn’t even feel my first dose. Asked the doctor multiple times if he was sure I’d gotten it.

Didn’t the J&J pause increase people’s trust in the vaccine?

Is this in-person only or including takeout? I know I had a lot of takeout this past year, way more than I’d ever go to an actual restaurant.

After seeing that… Stewart 2024? (Or 2028?)

I’m still thinking he could win in a landslide. Probably would have a better chance of winning back average Joes and blue collar workers than any actual Democratic politician, certainly Kamala Harris. And the man’s rhetorical skills still are clearly godlike. He certainly does have the potential to be a great politician if he really wanted it. I still think he should have primaried Menendez, that was his perfect opening. Despite all his denials of interest in running, I even wishfully thought at the time part of the reason he was retiring might have been to prepare for a future run.

Ooh, back to 2008! This is fun.

I've been saying this for over a month now, but we should leaving pandemic mode, not digging our heels in deeper

What is this in response to? Testing?

It's not a good question.  COVID can only be made endemic by continuing to treat its current pandemic status as a crisis.  Get a vaccine that limits COVID to only the mildest possible form of Omicron, and force everyone to get it, and only then can you say that COVID is "basically just the flu."
do we force everyone to get a flu shot

Doesn’t make sense to compare when we’re talking about Covid with the vaccine vs the flu without the vaccine.

“There should never be mask mandates again ever”
“What if circumstances change in the future”
“Omg you support *scary voice* seasonal mask mandates!!!”

What’s the problem with bringing them back when there’s a Covid surge and getting rid of them when it subsides?
