Still not willing to write him off, but few things must be more humiliating than losing as an incumbent Democrat in the midst of a historic Democratic tidal wave. I’ll definitely give him credit for not even pretending/faking to care about Republicans/conservatives like Manchin, though. If I had to pick one red state Democrat to stay in the Senate, it would be him (not Manchin/Tester/Brown).

Losing as an incumbent Democrat in California or New York would be humiliating. Losing as an incumbent Democrat in Alabama is not.
