In 1964, Brazil became a military dictatorship with the backing of the CIA. Lyndon Johnson supported this, would JFK have?I think he was more dovish than Johnson

Almost certainly.

One of the reasons why his assassination was a bad thing (besides being, y'know, murder) is that if his presidency died a natural death, so to speak, he'd be judged in a much more sober way instead of the weird and probably undeserved veneration he gets today.

LBJ was more or less Continuation JFK on foreign policy and especially on Cold War brinksmanship. The only reason people forget this is because of, yes, what-could-have-been Camelotism.
