Look at Trump's week

-Revealed that he paid $750 in taxes

-Thoroughly embarrasses himself at the debate

-Calls Biden out for wearing a mask then gets hospitalized for a virus he called a hoax

-Melania phone call leak where she says "F*** Christmas"

I've never seen anyone take that many blows to the body and still recover.

Trump's 'can't lose' state of Georgia possibly moved from Tossup to Tilt/Lean D after his pathetic debate showing where he didn't call out white supremacists. Also, his campaign is nearly broke and it's looking like he'll be locked up in hospital with a virus he's spent the last 7 months downplaying.

If this isn't the worst week for a campaign, I'd love to hear other suggestions

The only part of this most voters will remember when they're going to the polls is that Trump horribly mishandled the crisis, downplayed it, and was taken the hospital for the same virus he downplayed. It's absolutely over.

1980. Final Week.

Poor Jimmy, and poor us for allowing this to happen to him.

on the plus side, so much has happened that everyone's already forgotten how they're ramming through a SCOTUS justice and his $750 tax payment.

Covid has interrupted our lifestyle, it's a virus and it will take people no matter when it is. Politicians meet with foreign dignitaries all the time, Biden and his administration are gonna be at risk of Covid, but they will wear masks

I agree this has been a horrible week for Trump, but can we leave Melania out of this? She was just complaining about having to put up Christmas decorations, she didn’t say “f**ck Christmas”

It is, and I'm 100% with Joe Biden now. I still had some lingering thoughts about voting third-party, but those are completely gone. Nothing is going to deter me from voting one of the worst Presidents in our history out of office. I would agree that this week has been horrendous for Trump, and all of these blows-the tax revelations, the debate performance, and his viral diagnosis-are damaging ones to the flailing Trump campaign.

What happened in the last week of 1980?

One & only Presidential debate between Reagan/Carter, which gave us "There you go again" and "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"

Followed by the 1980 election

I'd argue Joseph Smith had a worse week back in the day.

Covid 19 isn't the only Pandemic we had, it's the first Pandemic where we had social distancing due to cyber tech, we had chicken pox in 1986, and everyone went to school and no social distancing required

Trump will probably lose by more than Hillary lost.

Also, Greeley's wife died five days before the election of 1872, which precipitated his own death only a month later

Chickenpox kills even less people than the flu does

Late October-Early November 1980 was a disaster for Jimmy Carter.  But this week may take the cake.

And all this is happening at a time where Trump was already losing in the polls.

Never mind the week.  It has been a terrible year for Trump -and it was all self-inflicted.  Nothing that has happened (including the arrival of the coronavirus on American shores) was beyond his control to prevent or ameliorate.

I'm now convinced that 2020 is a redux of 1980. As we move into October, it is looking increasingly likely that Biden will win by a margin comparable to that of Ronald Reagan's that year-and Trump's litany of disasters parallel those which engulfed Carter. His poor debate performance is similar to that of Carter's-Reagan's "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" was the death knell for the Carter campaign, and so will Trump's rambling prove to be for his.

Outside of a few scattered Pacific Island nations, every single country has dealt with the arrival of the coronavirus on its shores. How exactly would you have expected a nation of 300+ million to prevent a single COVID case from manifesting here?

Definitely not, even in their worst case scenarios most presidential candidates could breathe

Then why would you not refer to the pandemic itself, rather than the specific mention the virus' "arrival", as though that is Trump's to blame?
