Meh, Trump's COVID infection doesn't change a thing.

His hardcore supporters will  be energized again by stunts like these, but so will be his opponents against him... and as the polls have continously shown the latter group outnumbers the former.

Forgive me if I'm not reassured by an impromptu publicity stunt, that puts members of the USSS at risk.

While it's good that Trump is well enough to be moved, it may not be a good idea. Taking him out of his lodgings, away from medication and a good chair or bed can exhaust a vulnerable patient.

I do wonder whether this was a compromise moment. Trump almost certainly shouldn't go home tomorrow, so maybe this was a consolation prize, a bone to throw to the markets, showing the public that he's still cogent.

I could go into a list of things that I feel uncomfortable about here, but I'm worried that I'm one post away from going full Pepe Silvia at this point.

Americans are sick and tired of this freak's leadership. These stupid photo-ops (tear gassing protestors to clear the way for Trump to pose in front of a church, putting USSS agents in danger to wave to supporters wielding cultish flags) are energizing American voters against him. To most people, his conduct is and has been repulsive.

In the eyes of his supporters, Trump is the best President this country has had in decades. Many of them sincerely believe this.
