I think the benefit of not dealing with the inherent instability and disruption of the leader of a major world power dying (regardless of that leader's performance in office) cannot be overstated.

Sounds almost as bad as the instability and disruption caused by a president refusing to peacefully transfer power.

Given the pattern and practice of deceit and dishonesty by the administration, I think we need either evidence of competence from Pres. Trump by this evening, or Pence needs to be Acting President until Donald Trump has recovered. Between global and national events, there needs to be a clear chain of lawful authority.

His taped message and the official statement from the WH that Donald Trump remains in charge seem sufficient, for now.  I'm glad they put them out, even if Donald Trump being in charge isn't exactly  reassuring to me personally.

I don't wish for him to die, but I also don't wish for him to get a sympathy bump that he most certainly does not deserve.

That being said, people do get hospitalized as a precaution sometimes. I did once as a baby. So it could just be that.

Heard people talking about this as I walked around my neighborhood earlier, I'm hearing a lot more talk about things like this than I remember from 2016 or 2018. Might be a good sign for turnout, especially in suburbia like where I live.

The one good thing I can say about Trump is that he's electroshocked a lot of previously complacent people into paying attention to current events. Though I doubt they'll maintain this sort of vigilance once he's out of office.
