This thread just reinforces to me how arbitrary music genres can sometimes be.

Where's emo?

I don't really have a strong opinion, but from what I've heard I can't say I'm much of a fan. As far as I'm concerned, punk was over by 1979 and hardcore and what came after was a mistake. Also, goth is better.
