Compiling an anticanon of Atlas Forum posters

The "anticanon" in US constitutional jurisprudence is a small body of SCOTUS cases that are almost universally regarded to have been disastrous decisions and that no judge today in their right mind at any level would dare to cite in a positive context. Traditionally there are understood to be four cases in it, three that had nakedly racist results and one that had a nakedly plutocratic result: Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v. Ferguson, Lochner v. New York, and Korematsu v. United States. In order, these were the 1857 case that invalidated almost all efforts by free state governments or by Congress to protect fugitive slaves and free blacks prior to the Civil War; the 1896 case that ruled that "separate but equal" public accommodations for blacks and whites were constitutional; the 1905 case that ruled that attempts to regulate business practices and working conditions were substantive due process violations; and the 1944 case that ruled that Japanese internment was constitutional. There are a few other cases from the early twentieth century that are what might be called "deuteroanticanonical", like Lum v. Rice (a 1927 case that upheld Plessy and applied it to Asian-Americans for good measure) and Buck v. Bell (also 1927, a case that ruled that forced sterilization of the "unfit" was constitutional; you might think that Roe v. Wade overruled this, but no, Harry f**king Blackmun, megabrained intellectual that he was, specifically avoided doing so in the Roe decision).

I was reminded of the anticanon by Scott's recent FC thread asking us who, between three infamous banned Atlas posters, we'd most like to share a quarantine house with, if we absolutely had to choose. These posters were Eharding, Einzige, and Libertas: all violent racists who were psychologically abusive to other posters and made the forum community an all-around worse and coarser place. These seem pretty widely agreed to be the three worst posters of all time. Eharding and Einzige are banned from both Talk Elections and the much more laxly moderated spinoff forum Atlas After Dark; Libertas is banned from Talk Elections and left AAD of his own accord.

Are there any other posters who are "anticanonical" in their influence on this forum's standards, history, and overall site culture? Yates, for instance, who tricked the forum into believing that he was dying of cancer for reasons best known to himself? Matthew, a blue avatar in good standing until he volunteered the information that he had a five-digit post count on Stormfront? Hamilton, who once had a reputation similar to that of Eharding et al. but then managed to evade detection for years as a much more bearable and respected sock called Napoleon before being banned again?

I open the floor to discussion. Please only mention uncontroversially permabanned posters.

A rather wild development in the history of the forum and its para-communities is that he's once again openly himself and a member in good standing on AAD. The same is true of Mondale. The ironic thing about AAD is that, despite its sewer reputation, many of the old trolls have reformed themselves. Vosem is probably more of a troll than they are there at this point.

I seem to remember an extremely persistent German poster who made a lot of socks and was prone to make unbalanced threats--forget the name though.

Snowstalker is a good example of those former trolls that have since bettered themselves. Of course, he got himself banned from this forum on purpose, so I'm not sure if he counts.

Oh, and I'd add Cora to the list: a proud antisemite who wished for the bombing of a bus of Israeli school children just to send a message. Came back as a sock, called lfromnj a "curry c#nt", and was promptly banned.

I wish I could add TNF to this list given his glorification of politically motivated violence and celebration of communist dictators, but he a) wasn't banned and b) there are a few posters who actually think he was a swell guy.

I was reading some old threads and saw that, not only did Hamilton have many socks, he also seems to have been thought to be behind several other troll accounts which wasn't proven. He must have had a really big impact on this forum!

Personally, I was sorry to see GIA go, but unfortunately and unfairly he was certainly not uncontroversial, due to atlas groupthink.

Groupthink would imply a lack of controversy, not its presence.

Regardless, GIA was not an "anticanonical" poster because he had a negligible impact on the forum outside R&P. If he had spammed one or more of the "big" boards (US General, Individual Politics, the Presidential election du jour, etc.) and had had the same posting style that he had on R&P then, yeah, he might count.

Was it just that he developed a very aggressive posting style as time went on?

He was much more trollish than Fuzzy and much more inclined towards personal insults, and during the infraction points system used to deliberately manage his number of points to remain just under the allowed number so as not to be banned. On AAD he was especially aggressive towards female posters, in a very weird way.

Sounds about right, I remember Virginia announcing he had already posted over 120 times in 2018...on January 2. Mostly just empty quotes or one word posts, each one with a large pic of said porn star attached in his sig.
