Scott- I just read this. I'm so so sorry and my heart broke for you. I know nothing I or anyone else can say will make it better now, but know that you're loved and treasured, and that there's always light waiting in the horizon. It's dark now, but I know that you will make the sun rise again. I believe in you. We believe in you.

@Sanchez- I know that we haven't been seeing eye to eye at all in recent... Well, years, but I really thank you for doing this. It's incredibly important.

Wow, you guys... over $3,000 and counting.  Wow.

Scott and I are in contact about getting the money to him as quickly and directly as possible.

This is by far and away the greatest thing that came out of Atlas\Talk Elections since the time I've registered. I'm willing to bet since ever. Really heartening to see and I hope it can help as much as money can.

But seeing all the love and support I've gotten from people, both online and in person and from (physically) distant family members, I decided that I just can't do that. I don't want my last act on this earth to be hurting the scores of people who know and care about me. And I want to give life another chance now and help other people who've been through trauma.

If anything has taught me the value of life, it's been this last week and a half. It just isn't something you can take for granted.
