The term 'American Taliban' elicited a lot of eye rolling and condescending remarks from the political chattering/TV talking head/Enlightened CentrismTM class when the founder of daily kos more or less coined it years ago (and wrote a book by the same name), but he has been proven more and more right every year since.

You could be right, but I'm fairly sure the book came out before that show ever aired.

I recall seeing it used as early as December 2001, complete with George W. Bush's face photoshopped onto a Taliban leader's head
