Daily Arizona update...

If Democrats continue to outpace Republicans in Maricopa (where some Romney/Clinton voters probably haven't changed their registration yet), that's very bad news for Trump.

The largest lead that Ds ever held statewide in 2016 early returns was 8K votes. And it was a few days into early voting before GOP eclipsed them. So yeah, not looking good for the GOP when we are two weeks out and almost +90K D.

It's gotta be share of registered voters.  For example, El Paso at over 100,000 is nearly 50% of 2016 totals.

Maybe all of the people who have lost jobs amid Trump's covid failure.

Went to vote today, was pleasantly shocked to see a massive line at what is normally a sleepy early voting site in Indian River County, FL. I vote on the first day every election, and there has never been more than a 3-4 minute wait when I went. I waited over 45 minutes to vote this time. Line wrapped into parking lot. The volunteer there said she's been doing this for nearly 15 years and has never seen anything like it.

Just me but I would rather vote on weekday than weekend.

Now that I work remotely, I like to take more time off here and there to go out to get some breeze. That wasn't possible when I went to my office. I use weekend to either catch up on shopping, have more family time and binge on sports/TV.

https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/NJ.html

Looks like a big update to NJ totals as it's now up to 1.7 million early votes.  The numbers are shockingly bad for Republicans who are 3rd behind Democrat and No Party Affiliation.

I think some of it might just be habit, since before early voting everyone used to vote on a weekday, Tuesday. Plus, like Asta said people tend to enjoy doing leisurely activities (weekend vacations, watch sports, parties, seeing family, church) on weekends, while the possibility of waiting in line to vote isn't all that exciting to most folks (except for people on this forum lol).

Are California dropboxes under video surveillance?  Georgia ones are required to be.  If so, I hope they catch the perpetrator and send them to prison for a long time.

Yeah they must?

The 24 hour Dropbox in Phoenix has video surveillance and in-person security stationed when I went

And I hope that they can figure out whose vote got destroyed so that those people can send in new ballots.

This needs maximum prison time for whoever set this fire. Make an example of them, don't care what their politcal affiliation or motive was.

This doesn't seem great for Trump.  Democrats keeping pace despite so many absentee ballots in AND with Miami Dade out.  The lines in Miami Dade look long.

Is there a reason Miami-Dade has been slow in general reporting the past few weeks? Not just today but also with their mail in ballots?

Saw a news report that the republican mayor of Miami Dade didn't allow people to start getting absentee ballots as early as the state allowed.  So it doesn't sound like a reporting issue but that people literally started voting later than almost the entire rest of the state.
