It's often forgotten how unappealing both HRC and Trump were pre-nomination in 2016. I am skeptical of 3rd party runs because of the failure for any to seriously register in that race.

Seeing a lot of unjustified AOC skepticism in this thread. While she's definitely far to the left of the median voter on policy, she's hardly the ideologue that people make her out to be. While I don't necessarily think it's a good idea for her to run in 2024, she's a much savvier politician than people think and it's not by accident that she unseated one of the most powerful incumbents in the house. Shapiro, on the other hand, is an ideologue and one that has little appeal to anyone outside fellow conservative ideologues. AOC wins with ~350 EVs.
