... the 4 members of the tickets of the 2 major parties were white, male and protestant: Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Bob Dole and Jack Kemp.
Many elections before 1996 had 4 white, male, protestant

After that: Lieberman is jew, Kerry is catholic, Obama is non-white, Ryan is catholic, Hillary Clinton is female, Biden is catholic, Harris is female and non-white.

We can see an increasing diversity in the representation

True, but you left out Sarah Palin being female and Romney being Mormon.

Sure, I forgot Palin. I know Romney is mormon, but I though mormons were protestant, since they are non-catholic christians

Mormons are most certainly not Protestants. Protestant =/= non-Catholic Christian.

I think the same way as you.  I would regard as Protestant any schismatic religion descended in any way from 14th-century Catholicism.

I wouldn't consider a Russian Orthodox or Coptic Christian a Protestant, but I would definitely include John Adams as a Protestant president, even though he was a Unitarian.

Whether Mormons are Protestant or their own unique branch of Christianity outside of the Protestant family is an interesting and contentious question. Mormons certainly have a lot in common with Protestants and are a splinter off from Protestant Christianity, but they are pretty theologically unique in a lot of ways.

There have been more non-White-Protestant-male people on major party tickets between 2000 and 2020 than in the two centuries of previous elections.

Before 2000: Al Smith, John Kennedy, William Miller, Ed Muskie, Sargent Shriver, Geraldine Ferraro (and Charles Curtis but he could be debatable). 6 or 7.

Since 2000: Joe Lieberman, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine, Kamala Harris. 10.

2012 was the first and so far only election where none of the four ticket members were White Protestant males.
