Since Morales and Stringer have sorta collapsed Wiley should really benefit from being the sole person left in the progressive lane. It will be really interesting too see if theirs some big movement to her in the polls. The AOC endorsement should be huge!

Current PredictIt betting odds:

Eric Adams - 38 cents
Andrew Yang - 29 cents
Kathryn Garcia - 20 cents
Maya Wiley - 14 cents

Everyone else in single digits.

That actually seems like the most accurate top 4 right now.

Yang has completely flatlined. I don’t see a path for him and wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up third or fourth after the ballots are redistributed.

Garcia will do well in Manhattan, Adams will be very strong with black vote, Wiley could assemble some lefty + black community coalition, etc.

I don’t see what Yang’s path is, especially when the left gravitates toward Wiley and likely ranks Garcia higher than him, while being a non-starter among most non-Asian minority groups. I guess he just banks on low info voters ranking him due to name recognition?

AOC endorsing Wiley is a pretty embarrassing error.

Agreed, Yang would be better for the left in NYC. But Wiley is a better ideological fit for her brand.

Interesting to see who's endorsed who as of June 2nd: https://www.cityandstateny.com/articles/politics/campaigns-elections/endorsements-nyc-mayoral-candidates.html

Left wing consolidation continues (at least among official orgs and electeds, if not voters). Wouldn’t be shocked by an AOC endorsement but probably still unlikely.

Kudos on your correct prediction.

I’m noticing a last minute movement towards Wiley, but I doubt it’s enough

My ballot will be as follows, and this is fairly set

1. Wiley
2. Garcia
3. Donovan
4. Yang

Bowman follows suit and goes for Wiley.

It seems we are likely heading for a Adams-Garcia-Wiley photo finish, which will then be decided on transfers. Which is remarkable given the common wisdom just a month ago. Ironically, the revelation of every candidates flaws probably is what hurt Yang the most. Forced consolidation because ones initial choice was trash unintentionally raises said new candidates profile and visibility, hurting Ynag's name recognition campaign. Yang still has a monopoly on the East Asian vote, but he probably won't ever see the large number of second or third place rankings he'll receive in Manhattan and the Orthodox communities, since he might be eliminated before those voters first place candidates.

In what way? I find it a slightly embarrassing that she waited until the last 3 weeks to plant her flag in the ground

Wiley might win, is the concern. Not a major risk but certainly a risk. If she loses, AOC's endorsement looks meaningless; if she wins, the things Wiley does as mayor (most of which will probably be bad) are now linked to AOC in a way they weren't before now. Best outcome is probably a strong second place?

I disagree. I think it’s a pretty big get for Maya. We really need some new polling, though.

I dont see why people still think Adams is #1? Seems he's gotten a lot of criticism over the past few weeks, while I would assume the moderates are going for Garcia instead of Adams.

She’s also getting Rep. Yvette Clarke’s endorsement as well. (She RTed this)

Apparently AOC endorsed sixty people for City Council:

Apparently not all of these are endorsements, most are simply statements of who in the race supports and has endorsed AOC's courage to change pledge. That includes both crazies and legitimate candidates.

He’s pulled strong numbers with black voters, who obviously represent a sizable portion of NYC Ds
