A thread that I generally agreed with the thesis of.

The positivity and energy of Yang's campaign is something that, even his stances on the issues not considered, is helping his campaign out extremely well; and other candidates have to drop the "fixing this broken city" attitude if they want to stand a chance.

I find Andrew is adopting the very same messaging of "fixing the broken city." Just because the guy smiles a lot and waves his hands doesn't change that.

Certainly haven't decided on an order yet, but I'm thinking that Stringer, Morales, Wiley, and Menchaca (if he's still in) will be on my ballot. 5th spot will probably be either Adams or Donovan.

I like Andrew Yang, but I remain unconvinced.

Yea I will have to say, as much as I don’t agree with Yang. He’s fun and his campaign vibes. Can’t really say the same with Stringer, Morales. The closest maybe is Wiley

If you happen across any Morales buttons, let me know if you'd be willing to mail it to me.

Have we seen much coalition-building yet? like candidates endorsing other candidates for second pref like we saw in ME in 2018 and 2020 with Sweet and Cote Endorsing each other for second pref and Savage and Gideon?

Wiley & Morales cross-endorsed each other as their 2nd-preferences at an event, but it hasn't really been publicly put out there in terms of campaign advertising & other such pieces of literature & the like. I imagine further developments along those lines will ramp up the closer we approach Jun. 12th, when early voting begins.

How is the race for comptroller looking? Hopefully Caruso-Cabrera has no chance.

It's Lander (amazing) and Corey Johnson (yuck). Everyone else is probably noise.

Hopefully no one needed any more proof that he's the true right-winger in the field by this point, but if they did somehow here's some pretty unequivocal proof. The union scorning him probably won't make enough of a dent to seriously harm his chances, and so the paternalistic technocratic austerity future of TikTok Hype Yeshivas soldiers on Fukuyama-esque into reality.

Yang isn't wrong though. If someone is speaking the truth, and you call them "right-wing" for it, all you do is increase support for the right-wing position and movement.

DTC and CT kiddo supporting that position is proof enough for me to know it's wrong, as if I didn't already.

It's a bad take on Yang's part, for sure, but let's not forget that Eric Adams was actually a registered right-winger.

Adams is awful too, but seems to my outsider perspective more clueless than deliberating like Yang is.

Oh, I always figured that he just deliberately switched parties so that he could secure his seat in the State Senate & the successful career in NY(C) Democratic politics that was borne thereof as opposed to a career that would've presumably gone nowhere fast had he remained a Republican Tongue

The Democratic primary is making a good case for ranked-choice voting at the moment.

An interesting take:

His support base of whites and Asians along with some Latinos make him more akin to a latter-day Abraham Beame or Mario Proccacino though.

Former MLB labor negotiator and Giuliani deputy mayor and current New York Yankees president Randy Levine is considering a run for New York City mayor, based on people pushing polling on his name and potential candidacy
