Speech in Wasilla, Alaska

It is an outrage when Labor pushes out attack ads calling PSOL and Laki communists, when in their own platform it says, "The means of production should belong to the workers who use them.", which means that they are socialists.

I call on all of you to reject the desperate lying by Labor by voting against Labor, even if you don't vote for the Democratic Alliance, which I hope you do.

I’m only a socialist because I don’t want to be generic D-PA avatar 21
ooh, look at me, I’m speshul!

Ask your party chair why he doesn't have D-Oregon?
ooh, look at me, whataboutism, I'm so smart!

Because chances are he might not be a Democrat. Come to Portland and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

This, in big cities, many progressives are often not registered Democrats or even if they are, they don’t identify with the party. These people are hardcore liberals in ideology, but often view the more moderate wing of the Democratic Party, which dominates the current party as too moderate, Nancy Pelosi is the only party leadership figure who genuinely aligns with their values.
You two have jobs to be doing.

If the “good speaker from NJ” gets triggered by good legislation that’s his own problem.
And lowering the drinking age is the most pressing political issue of our time? It's clearly a non-issue and a blatantly transparent baiting attempt by the DA.
I don't know why this theory of yours has gained traction in your head, but its ridiculous. Its a bill that S019 clearly doesn't like. You are allowed to write legislation that S019 doesn't like. Sorry.

It isn't about lowering the drinking age, what about the open container laws that you know are in the bill.
So alcohol citations are why Ahmaud Arbery and so many others are victims of police brutality. Got it.
Every improvement is an improvement. Big and small, if there are improvements to be made then improvements should be made. And yes, these laws have worsened racial profiling. So if we can improve that situation, we should.

You are allowed to write bills S019 doesn't like - hell, we do it in Labor all the time. But it's bad faith to write a bill S019 doesn't like for the sole purpose of annoying him. That's not called serving the people of Lincoln, it's called passing reform with little impact as an excuse to piss off someone you don't like. Anyone with half a brain cell can see that.
But there is no evidence of that, because it isn't true. So its a moot point.

> S019's archaic views on moral issues are well known, as is the antagonism between you two

> Upon entering Council, you sponsor a bill that would clearly anger him and/or make him say things that could be used against Labor.

It's simple logic. And you know it.
Correlation is not causation. I did not sponsor the bill because S019 doesn't like it. I sponsored because I like it and I believe that it would be a good thing for it to pass. You're making this up because DA bad. Please stop lying to everyone. This is a waste of time, so I'm not responding to this anymore.

Also, since we're coming full circle, will we start getting updates on what the NPC governments have done?

On the Cao-Dave ad, it stipulates that Cao approved the message, but I haven't seen confirmation on that. Is it actually true that Cao approves that message?

Labor:
Quote
They want you to believe that Lincoln Labor is the party of jackbooted thugs, they want you to believe anybody who opposes their policy is a fascist.
Also Labor:
Quote
we are facing an onslaught of fascism and white supremacist policies from the opposition.  They want to undo everything that Dr. King and Pastor Warnock have fought for here in Atlanta and nationwide.  They're talking about checkpoints all over this city... all over this state... all over the country.  Checkpoints to make us show our papers to prove who is worthy of proceeding un-harassed.  It wasn't that long ago that people like this wanted to turn on the hoses and unleash the dogs!

Labor's Georgia campaign is the most vile campaign I've ever seen in NPC elections.

Almost like real life or something...

It's hardly vile to point out your opponent dabbles in fascist tendencies.

I'm, um, going to need a clarification on a couple of things here:

1. who your "opponent" is
2. where the precise fascist tendencies you are accusing us (?) of holding come from, because AFAIK not a single person in our party has talked about instituting "checkpoints all over" Atlanta or any of your other accusations

Furthermore, I really don't understand the compulsive need to make this game as toxic as RL politics. Is there a specific outcome of all this that would result in a better game?

Oh my bad.  I thought there was an effort by your party to crack down on "sanctuary cities" (a thing which doesn't even exist).

And calling someone a fascist is fair game.  It's literally an ideology.
Its perhaps the most reprehensible political ideology and applying it to people with 0 proof of it is a disgusting fearmongering tactic and an assassination of the character of perfectly good people. Its the kind of demagoguery I've come to expect out of Trump, just flip socialism with fascism. And if you're willing to use such tactics, then it is within my right to call them out just as Trump's many opponents have.

Also a question on the MN results - why did the DA surge 9% in polling without campaigning there? December's House races in MN were unanimous Labor so that makes little sense.

We also had a homestater - Amanda - campaigning there. And I don't believe we said anything remotely controversial in MN (excluding the GA debacle).
We did run several national ads and some fremont targeted ones, which I guess is where that must have come from.

To run in Utah until the election.

Ad: "Train Nerds"

EXT. DESERT – DAY

Score: The Old Train

Open on a dusty green-and-white SIGNPOST indicating a railway stop. The "station" is deserted — the small platform is occupied by a few tumbleweeds and a lizard. As the narration plays, the camera slowly zooms out to reveal miles of open desert in every direction.

AUSTRALIAN SWING VOTER (V.O.)
These are pointless routes that serve very small cities over very long distances and would be a massive waste of government spending.

NARRATOR (V.O)
So said Australian Swing Voter, the DA leader in parliament, about a plan to expand high speed rail last year. He also said:

AUSTRALIAN SWING VOTER (V.O.)
This game has too many NUMTOTs and Train Nerds who can't accept ... how weak of a business case it possesses.

The camera zooms out more to reveal the landscape is a framed picture hanging in a lavish boardroom, where several heavy balding men with gold watches are laughing and smoking cigars.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
Everyone wants better infrastructure. Not everyone understands how to get there.

The Labor party supports practical and effective infrastructure spending to get you the biggest bang for your buck.

FADE IN text:

VOTE FOR AMANDA YOUNG ON MAY 29.

Proud to be featured in an ad without realising it! (Also yes the DA proposal is incredibly dumb and has probably cost our chance of victory. Such is the cost of NUMTOTs and foaming Gunzels.)
Fact check: Plenty of track already exists in Utah, nobody is talking about high speed here, and rural communities do in fact use trains where available.
