The term “Free World” was always a propaganda talking point anyways.
Merkel is probably the closest, but even she doesn’t have the power the US president once had.

Probably Merkel, but I would throw in Ardern.  Yes New Zealand is a small country, but they've on many issues done quite well.  Some would say Trudeau, but with the amount of unenforced errors, probably not.  Yes he looks great compared to Trump, but that is a low bar to set.  I also think whatever the name of South Korea and Taiwan leaders are possibilities.
