Interesting question: how committed are you to voting for (your candidate):

Biden supporters:
   Extremely 73
   Very 16
   Somewhat 10
   Not at all -

Trump supporters:
   Extremely 66
   Very 21
   Somewhat 12
   Not at all 1

Is there any information in the poll about the makeup of undecided voters and their leanings?

Is there any information in the poll about the makeup of undecided voters and their leanings?

From the crosstabs:

Among Trump approvers:

Trump 89
Biden 6
Other 2
Wouldn't vote -
Don't know 2

Among Trump disapprovers:

Biden 84
Trump 4
Other 4
Wouldn't vote 2
Don't know 6

From this we can infer that the undecided/other voters heavily disapprove of Trump.  Working out the actual percentages is left as an exercise for the student. Wink

Terrible for Biden. He's gonna have to get 15-20% margins if he wants even a chance of a tie after Trump underfunds the USPS

Just by looking at the cross tabs, you'd expect Biden to be up by more than this.

Why are there people who approve of Trump but support Biden?

Well, it suggests to me that undecideds might tend to favor him more. I'm not sure why they aren't already supporting him though if that's the case.

Plus, hes up like 14% among the "62% certain to vote" or whatever, so how is he doing that badly with the other 38%? doesn't really add up

Yeah... this tells me this race is a tossup. All the talk about Biden winning Texas and Georgia and all that is frankly ridiculous. This guy is able to convince people to drink bleach.

Biden is +7 with a +10 favorable rating and Trump is at -12. What?

With the country a total disaster. Horrific response to a pandemic, nearly 200k dead, millions unemployed, racial riots. It’s been about as bad as you can possibly get and yet Biden is only up 7. If Trump gets it to 3 he wins.

Yeah, the country is polarized. Trump is horrific but unfortunately you're still going to get 40-45% to vote for him just bc he has R next to his name

He doesn’t necessarily or even likely win at 3 points. If Hillary had won by 3 points, she would have narrowly won instead of narrowly lost.
