Apparently, the stuff that this kid is being accused of (and seems to have admitted to) occurred when he was in sixth grade.

It’s totally fair to slam him for the dumb stuff he is saying now.  But there’s no way stuff you did when you were 11 years old should follow you around in your adult professional life.

Awful take. We aren’t talking about dumb forum posts or underage drinking here, this guy blackmailed someone with nude pictures to try to get more of them. There is no age he could’ve done that at to make it anything other than psychopathic. He should be nowhere near elected office.

There’s a reason why we sometimes prosecute 15-year-olds for adult crimes but never prosecute 11-year-olds.  An 11-year-old is not a morally mature person.  He could have murdered someone when he was 11, and I don’t think it should be held against him as an adult.

He refers to his behaviour towards middle school girls as that of a "troubled 14-year-old", which means something else was still going on until that age or he was repeating grades.

Fingers crossed that Frownfelter is able to mount a successful write-in campaign & trounce this toxic douche.

Wouldn't it be better to have someone else run a write-in campaign who hadn't already lost a primary to this guy?

He's awful, but if the voters elect him anyway knowing all this, the legislature should seat him. The people have the right to be represented by any eligible citizen they choose, not necessarily someone acceptable to other legislators.

It would be one thing if this all came out after Election Day. But the voters have the full information and their decision should be respected.
No, if he wins the voters should be ignored and him not be seated.

What could possibly go wrong with setting this precedent? It's not as if there is an increasingly popular conspiracy theory regarding Democratic politicians and child abuse/trafficking.

If you really want to try and compare these two very different things that is up to you and your strange reasoning.  They aren't the same and you know it.

Of course they aren't the same. One is true and the other isn't. That doesn't mean the conspiracy isn't believed by many, though, and that's what counts in a democracy.

Setting the precedent of not seating him opens the door to Qanon panderers deciding not to seat certain Democrats as well.

He cannot be allowed to win this seat. Beyond his abusive behavior, he clearly has no knowledge of policy.

He'd yo-yod between "I want socdem Kansas" and this LARP pretty quickly. Considering his bizarre citation of FBI claims about MLK to defend his own reprehensible behaviour, he seems a little unstable. Getting off the internet, out of the race and into a therapist's office would probably be best for him as well as everyone else.
