Aaron Coleman, a high school dropout who ran for governor as a write-in independent in 2018 is running for State House (HD-37). This is a safe D district with no Republican running, and he currently leads incumbent Rep. Stan Frownfelter by 1 vote.

Coleman recently drew criticism online when he laughed at Herman Cain's death and said "it would be funny" if Republican lawmakers who don't wear masks die, though it seems to me that he was sh*tposting.

Also of note: If he does win, I believe that makes him the first officeholder to be born in the 21st century.

Truly hilarious. Somehow even more surreal than nearly 10% of Vermont Dems voting for a literal teenager.
Sonneborn strikes me as a seriously well spoken kid and I hope he runs for something in the future

Was reading the 2nd article and saw the photo they have of the 19 year old. That guy *really* needs dress shirts that fit properly

Ironically enough, the 19-year-old from Kansas looks older than this 26-year-old from Missouri who also won his primary and is likely going to his state legislature.
Dude looks like he just finished playing Minecraft and is happy he’s getting chicken tendies for dinner

now, I don't remember this too well, but I think Frownfelter said he was retiring after this term last cycle, then walked that back. Might have been part of it, idk
