WB: At the beginning of this term, you created the new office of the Leader of the Opposition, to which you appointed Spark. Can you explain why you felt this new position was necessary?

WestDem: I thought it would be a nice gesture and way to reach out to the minority here in the Senate. I believe it’s important to give all sides a voice.

PPT WD said he created the Leader of the Opposition role to reach out to the opposition but his actions in this session prove that he never had that intention. It's more likely that he manipulated and lied to Spark to garner his support and encouraged that support by giving him that ceremonial-only role.

He says he cares about giving all sides a voice but that is clearly false because he used underhanded tactics to quickly table Federalist legislation this term.

Ending recalls as a practice is monstrous.
