Metro Los Angeles is more pro-Trump/less pro-Biden than I expected. Then again, the map only shows donations over $200.

Looks like the ZIP code I grew up in had the highest number of Trump donors in my state (it's shaded dark blue).

North Carolina and Ohio being more Biden friendly than Arizona is shocking (until you realize the Democratic voter base in AZ)

Yeah this map doesn't really validate the "sunbelt strategy." If anything it suggests not much has changed since 2016 or even before that. Then again the demographics of identified donors is not the same as voters. Maybe turnout is really the key.

My small town that's usually Republican is giving Biden a 2:1 donor advantage.

Wow, almost every state is red! Blowout incoming! KAG! KAG! KAG!

>ignores that most (over $200) political donors are rich old white people with expedient money and that this map will have little-to-no impact on the final election results

My zip code voted around 55-35 for Clinton yet Trump has a slight edge with local donors.

Fun to look at, but I hope no one takes this as indicative of anything other than how insulated and/or influential rich donors can be regarding local politics

This tells me more than any pollster ever will and I have taken my first sigh of relief of this election. Not because Trump is trailing in donations (Republicans tend to be of lower-income anyway) but in what states. Trailing (even if it's not by much) in the MAGA states of OH, GA, IA and NC is absitively posolutely N O  B U E N O. This also tells me the rust belt is gonna be a lot more competitive than the polls let on but that's alright by me.  I'm also not the least bit surprised that FL and TX have rallied to the President's aid more than any other state in the union. I'm telling you man.... FL Trump voters are freaking cult-like. The pinkish counties are all 4:1 and more Trump donations even if it's small numbers.

FL and AZ are NOT gimmes for Joe Biden. He needs to win by the most direct route and that means winning the Rust Belt. All these other states are just nice to have.

I'm telling you man.... the election is gonna be close come November. I would love to be wrong though.

Its important to note Ds that are giving to both Biden and Trump are middle class, most of the working poor that have fallen on hard times have stopped given due to Covid 19. That's why Pelosi stopped ads on Facebook targeting everyone to donate, instead of legislation

If poor gives, it's not nearly as much they gave during primaries, where Yang, Bernie, Harris, Biden and Warren were flushed with cash

Very helpful. Surprising to see the lack of donors for Biden in Las Vegas.

The Dem base in Nevada is usually minimum-wage workers so I doubt they have a lot of money to give.

The electoral map if it was by donations. In general, the donations map has Biden doing better in the rust belt, and poorer in the sunbelt, which makes sense, since many of the voters they rely on in the sunbelt are poorer than their northern counterparts.

This is basically a map of the political leanings of middle to upper-class white people in a given place.

I'm very pleasantly surprised to see Biden donors outnumbering Trump donors in my Pittsburgh area zip code. My town has been a solid Republican stronghold for decades... it even voted for Santorum in a landslide in 2006 even as every other town around it went for Casey. Slowly but surely, it's riding the suburban D trend.

Not very surprised by my zip. Over 93% for Biden, like 1300 total. Lots of lakefront liberals

This map foreshadowed Biden's relative weakness in the Sunbelt and relative strength in the (white) Northeast. RIP Atlas's collective dreams of blue Iowa and blue Ohio.

Weakness? Biden won AZ and GA.

He won AZ and NV by relatively narrow margins. FL was also surprisingly R, but I don't think any other Dem would've done any better there. NC would've been close either way.
