Since the deadline for the federal $600 is coming up, what are y'alls thoughts on extending it

Without that extra $600, a lot of families and individuals already on the edge of being unable to afford rent or food would suffer much, much more. Plus, consumption spending would be greatly diminished, if not further retract.

Why anyone would sanction that type of human suffering in the worst recession in ~80 years, much less invite the great strife and conflict of that era, is incredibly stupid.

No, just like with SSI and General Assistance its called double dipping. State aid will continue for unemployment insurance until the 12 mnths are over. SSI recipients didnt get bonuses on their payrolls.

Leader McConnell already said 600 is a nonstarter, maybe if Pelosi would have negotiated on the stimulus package,  instead of trying to pass DC statehood,  and if the Senate is split 50/50 after the election, DC statehood is still not going anywhere.

DC statehood made Rs madder, since Ds are trying to add more seats to the Senate. It should have waiting til 2021, when Ds had the 51 votes
